Counseling for MBBS seats in Meghalaya for the year 2024

In Meghalaya, the admission and counselling process for filling undergraduate medical seats is administered by North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong. The aim is to fill the total of 50 seats in the medical college. The admission to these seats will be based on the NEET 2024 score. Out of these seats, total 42 seats (85%) are state quota seats for which North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong will organise offline counselling through state merit rank and 15% are AIQ seats which will be filled by MCC on the basis of NEET 2024 Score.

Note: These are the total seats available for admission. The available seats for various categories are mentioned in the prospectus 2024.

Admission Process
The competent authority has released the online application form available at http://www.neigrihms.gov.in/ for admission to the Meghalaya MBBS course on 01/07/2024.

Candidates can submit the duly filled application form on or before 05/08/2024 upto  11:55 pm. It is advised to fill the correct mobile number and email address while registration.

While filling out the application form, the candidate has to upload the required documents such as a photograph, scanned signature, domicile, mark sheets of 10th and 12th standard, NEET scorecard and admit card etc.

Candidates are advised to retain a printout copy of the online application form and the proof of submission of the application.

Counselling Process

Before the commencement of MBBS counseling, the competent authority will publish a merit list (candidates called for counseling) along with waiting list  which will be prepared on the basis on their score and percentile of marks obtained in the NEET 2024 The merit list will be available on the official website www.neigrihms.gov.in and on the notice board of NEIGRIHMS institute.

Round-I:
Candidates whose names are displayed in the merit list will have to physically report at the NEIGRIHMS campus for the counseling purpose. Also, at the time of counseling, candidates have to bring the original documents/certificates for verification.

The candidates selected for the admission will have to undergo medical examination by a Medical Board consisting of Faculty members of the Institute. If in the assessment of the Medical Board, a candidate is found medically unfit, he/she will not be admitted. But candidates who will be found medically fit are required to pay the admission fee.

Round-II & Round III:

If any candidate selected does not appear for admission or seats remain vacant, then candidates from the waiting list will be called for second counseling or third counselling as schedule listed above.
