Manipur MBBS/BDS process explained for 2020

In Manipur, the process of admission purpose is to fill 85% state quota seats for MBBS and BDS courses in Government colleges and both state quota and management quota seats in private colleges. The conducting authority is Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Manipur.

Note: These are the total seats available for admission. The available seats for various categories are mentioned in the prospectus 2020.

Admission Process

Application form were available at Medical Directorate, Lamphelpat from 3/11/2020  to 07/11/ 2020. Candidates have to fill the application form appropriately with correct details and have to submit it before the due date 11th November. The application cum counselling fee is Rs. 650 for general category (Rs 400 for SC/ST candidates). It is preferable to get the application form photocopied for further communication.

Counselling Process

Counselling will be done on the basis of merit list prepared based on NEET 2020 score and the merit list would include the details like name, roll number, NEET overall AIR, NEET marks, percentile, and date of birth.

Round-I: 

For MBBS/BDS admission in Manipur, counseling for round-I will be conducted in offline mode on 25/11/2020. Candidates in the merit list will be eligible to participate in the first round of counselling and seat allotment process.

Counselling Venue:

Main Auditorium Hall,

Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences – Porompat (Imphal)

All candidates whose name are displayed in the merit list have to report for counselling at the assigned venue (mentioned above) on scheduled day with originals and photocopies of all relevant documents. The counselling authority will verify the documents and complete the seat allotment process for the first round of counseling. Candidates who will be allotted seat must deposit the course fee within the stipulated date and report to the allotted institution with original documents.

Round-II:

If any seats will remain vacant after the first round of counselling, then DHS will conduct the second round counselling on 07/12/2020 with the same procedure as round-I of counseling.

Round-III:

 After first and second round of counseling, if any seats still remain vacant, then a mop-up round will be conducted on 14/12/2020.

 Note: 

  • Any eligible candidate who will not attend the first round of counseling, he/she will not be allowed to attend the subsequent rounds (round-II and mop up round) of counseling.
  • If any information or documents submitted by the candidate are found to be fake, his/her seat will be forfeited and chance will be given to the next eligible candidate.
