NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2020 for BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFM & MFTech

The NIFT entrance tests are taken by candidates who aspires for a career into design courses provided at the National Institutes of fashion Technology. There are various design courses such as BDes, BFTech, MDes, MFTech and MFM, each offering different niche training into domains of designing courses. There are different tiers of exams that must be cleared before getting an entrance into the course. However for each of the strata there happens to be certain eligibility criteria. Let us take a look at them.


BDes – The eligibility criteria of BDes NIFT 2020 will be as follows:

  • Must have completed their 10+2 standards from a recognized board.
  • Must have the GCE exam cleared
  • Must have studied in a Public board/School or University in the country.
  • Must have pass grade in at least five subjects in their 10+2 board exam’s
  • Possess a 3 or 4 year diploma by a AICTE or state board.

MDes – The NIFT eligibility criteria for MDes are as follows:

  • Have pursued successfully an undergraduate degree from a recognized institute or University of India.
  • Have a UG level design diploma either from NID or NIFT.
  • Have an minimum three year undergraduate Diploma from NID or NIFT.

BFTech – the following are the NIFT eligibility criteria for BFTech:

  • Completed their 10+2 exams with pass marks in five subjects.
  • Have appeared for GCE exams.
  • Have attended to an India public school/University or Board and covered subjects like math, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Have completed a three or four year diploma in any engineering branch from an AICTE or State Board.

MFM – The eligibility criteria for MFM NIFT 2020 are as follows:

  • Have completed their 10+2 exams from a recognized board in India with pass marks in five subjects and studied Chemistry, Physics and mathematics.
  • Have appeared for GCE exams.
  • Have completed a three or four year diploma in any engineering branch from either a state board or AICTE board.

MFTech – The criteria are as follows:

  • Completed BFTech from NIFT
  • Pursued Btech and BE from a recognized university of institute of the country.
