MBBS/BDS admission process
In Tamil Nadu, admission
process for filling Undergraduate Medical/dental seats is administered by The
Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu. The aim is to fill the tentative 3947 MBBS
seats and 985 BDS seats in the medical and dental colleges of Tamil Nadu state.
The admission to these seats will be based on the NEET 2019 score. Out of these
seats, 85% seats are state quota seats for which DME, Tamil Nadu will organize
counseling based on state merit rank derived from NEET scores and 15%
are AIQ seats which will be filled by MCC on the basis of NEET 2019 Score.

Admission
Process
For admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Tamil Nadu, candidates
were required to register online by filling the application form which was
available at http://www.tnhealth.org/ from June 7, 2019
to June 20, 2019. Candidates had to download the receipt of online
application form filled and had to send it with required enclosures to the

Counselling
Process
For Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admissions, total three
rounds of counselling will be conducted including a mop-up round (if required).
The admission authority will separately release the provisional state merit
list for each round. The list will be prepared on the basis of NEET-2019 score
and it would include the details like name, roll number, NEET overall AIR, NEET
marks, percentile, and date of birth.
Round-I:
The admission authority will publish the provisional
state merit list for 1st round on July 2, 2019. Candidates
whose names will be displayed in the state merit list will be eligible to
attend the first round of counseling.
Government quota:
For admission under government quota including I.R.T.
Medical College, Perundurai, Erode; Government seats in Self- Financing Medical
/ Dental Colleges affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University;
Rajah Muthiah Medical / Dental College affiliated to the Annamalai University; Chidambaram
and ESIC Medical College and PGIMSR, K.K.Nagar, Chennai; the counseling for 1st round will be
conducted from July 5, 2019
to July 12, 2019.
Management
quota:
For admission under management quota including NRI
in self - financing Medical / Dental colleges and Christian Medical College,
Vellore, the counseling for 1st round will be conducted from July 16, 2019 to July 18, 2019.
To participate in first round of counseling,
candidates need to pay a non refundable amount of Rs 500 (for government
quota seat) and Rs 1000 (for management quota seats) as a processing
fee by means of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Selection
Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10”payable at Chennai.
The authority will publish the result of seat
allotment for first round. Aspirants whose name will be displayed in the seat
allotment result of round one will need to download their seat allotment
letters and need to report at the allotted institute for document submission.
Note:
Candidates who will be allotted seat in 1st round of counseling and
donot join the institute in the stipulated time; will not be eligible for
subsequent rounds of counseling. Also those who have not participated in 1st
round will not be eligible to participate in other rounds of counseling.
Round-II (to be notified)
After round-I of counseling, the counseling
authority will conduct a second round of counseling (to be notified) to fill
the vacant seats. Candidates who will not be allotted seats in first round of
counseling can attend the round-II. The candidates who are waitlisted/
re-allotted need not pay the processing fee.
Mop up round (to be notified)
All those candidates who
will be granted seats in 1st & 2nd round and those candidates who will be
in waiting list or to whom the choices were not available during 1st round and
2nd round will be eligible to participate in mop up round.
