Uttar Pradesh Counseling Details for MBBS and BDS for year 2024

In Uttar Pradesh, admission and counseling process for filling Undergraduate Medical/dental seats is administered by Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET). The aim is to fill the 8378 seats in the medical college and 2300 seats in the dental college of UP state. The admission to these seats will be based on the NEET 2024 score. Only the candidates who will fulfill the basic eligibility conditions will be called for admission to around 8378 MBBS and 2300 BDS seats in UP state. Out of these seats, 85% state quota seats offered by government as well as private colleges of the Uttar Pradesh will be filled by DMET through offline counselling. While, from the government medical colleges, the 15% seats will be reserved for students selected under All India Quota scheme. These seats will be filled by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on the basis of NEET UG scores.

Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS programmes in UP are required to fill the application form to participate in the counseling. The applications form will be available for each round of counseling.
Steps to fill the application form:
Registration: While filling the application form, candidates need to register themselves by creating the login id and password. Candidates must then submit the correct contact details, name and DOB to complete the registration.
Filling the details: After successful registration, candidates will be required to fill their NEET score and rank, academic details and personal details.
Uploading documents: Once the registration process is over, candidates have to upload the prescribed documents as per mentioned specifications.
Application fee payment and form submission: The non refundable fee of Rs 2000 (for all categories) must be deposited in the online mode by using debit/credit cards or net banking. After fee payment, candidates will finally submit their application form and must take print out for future reference.

Counselling Process

For UP MBBS/BDS admissions, total three rounds of counselling will be conducted including a mop-up round. The admission authority will separately release the state merit list for each round. The list will be prepared on the basis of NEET 2024 score and it would include the details like name, roll number, NEET overall AIR, NEET marks, percentile, and date of birth.

Round-I:

Application form submission: For round-I of counseling, the competent authority has released the application form on 20-08-2024. Candidates have to submit the duly filled application form on or before 24-08-2024 upto 11:00 am.
DMET, UP will release result of seat allotment on 30-08-2024.

Verification of documents and security amount payment: Candidates whose names will be displayed in the state merit list will have to report to the nodal centers for document verification and for the payment of security amount of Rs 30000 for govt. medical/dental colleges, Rs 200000 for private medical colleges and Rs 100000 for private dental colleges. In case the candidate wants to participate in the counselling for both government and private colleges, then the candidate is required to pay a sum of Rs. 2,00,000.
The security amount has to be paid through CTS bank draft in the favor of Director General, Medical education and Training, UP, payable at Lucknow. The security money will be returned to the candidates after the completion of the admission procedure of UP MBBS 2024.

Choice filling and locking: Candidates need to fill their choices for round-I (24-08-2024 to 29-08-2024) of colleges as well courses, in which they want to get admission. The choices once filled cannot be edited. Based on these choices and courses filled, NEET score & rank, seat availability and reservation criteria, UP MBBS/BDS 2024 admission will be granted for 85% state quota seats for round-I.
DMET, UP will publish the result of seat allotment for first round on 30-08-2024. Candidates need to download their seat allotment letter between 31/08/2024 to 05/09/2024

Note: If the candidate fails to report to the college where the candidate has been allotted seat or withdraws from admission after the conclusion of UP MBBS 2024 admission procedure, the security money submitted by the candidate will be confiscated (taken or seized with authority).

Round-II:

After round-I of counseling, the counseling authority will conduct a second round of counseling as shown in the schedule above to fill the vacant seats. For the second round, candidates have to fill the application form again.
