West Bengal Counseling for MBBS/BDS 2025

In West Bengal, admission and counseling process for filling Undergraduate Medical/dental seats is administered by Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kolkata. The aim is to fill the tentative 2200 seats in the medical colleges and 546 seats in the dental colleges of West Bengal state. The admission to these seats will be based on the NEET 2025 score. Out of these seats, 85% seats are state quota seats for which centralized counseling will be conducted on the basis of West Bengal MBBS state rank and 15% are AIQ seats which will be filled by MCC on the basis of NEET 2025 Score.

Note: These are the total seats available for admission. The available seats for various categories are mentioned in the prospectus 2025. 

Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS programmes in West Bengal are required to participate in pre counseling by filling the application form which has been released on 31.07.2025. Candidates can submit the duly filled application form on or before  12.08.2025 8 pm. Steps need to follow for the submission of application form is: 

Registration: While filling the application form, candidates need to submit the correct contact details, name and DOB, NEET score and rank, academic details and personal details. After successfully registering, candidate will have to submit the form to proceed to pre counseling and counseling fee payment.

Application fee payment and form submission: The non refundable fee of Rs 2000 (for Gen/OBC categories) and Rs 1500 (for SC/ST categories) must be deposited in the online mode by using debit/credit cards or net banking. After fee payment, candidates will finally submit their application form.

Generation of Acknowledgement slip: Once the payment is made, candidate has to click on the “Generate Acknowledgement Slip for Document Verification”. By entering the roll No., DoB and transaction ID, candidate will have to generate and print the ‘Acknowledgement Slip’ which will include the details of Venue and Date/Time of the document verification centre and has to be carried at the time of document verification

Document Verification: For physical document verification candidates will be required to report at the allotted colleges along with their acknowledgment slip and original documents along with self attested photocopies.

Counselling Process

For West Bengal MBBS/BDS admissions, total three rounds of counselling will be conducted including a mop-up round. The admission authority will separately release the state merit list for each round. The list will be prepared on the basis of NEET-2025 score and it would include the details like name, roll number, NEET overall AIR, NEET marks, percentile, and date of birth.

Round-I:

Online registration & choice filling: Candidates in the eligibility list will have to register themselves (07 pm of 31.07.2025 till 8 pm of 12.08.2025, (as per server time) ) for first round of counseling. Along with that, they will have to fill their choices of colleges as well courses (4 pm of 14.08.2025 till 12 Midnight of 17.08.2025 (as pern server fime) ) in which they want to get admission. The choices once locked cannot be edited.

Based on these choices and courses filled, NEET score & rank, seats availability and reservation criteria, West Bengal MBBS/BDS 2025 admission will be granted for 85% state quota seats for round-I. Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kolkata will publish the result of seat allotment for first round on After 11 am of 23.08.2025 . Candidates need to download their seat allotment letter and will be required to report at the respective colleges allotted to them for document submission, payment of fee and bond submission (23.08.2025, 25.08.2025 & 26.08.2025 10 am to 4 pm (as per server time)

Round-II :

After round-I of counseling, the counseling authority will conduct a second round of counseling to fill the vacant seats.

Mop-Up Round:

After round-II of counseling, the counseling authority will conduct a Mop-Up round.
