Important Dates

 Candidates seeking admission to M. Phil (Clinical Social Work ) course are required to send their applications in the prescribed form which can be downloaded from the websites www.tn.health.org and www.tnmedicalselection.org and sent along with a demand draft for 1200/- (Rupees One thousand two hundred only) from any Nationalised Bank and drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee,Kilpauk,Chennai10” payable at Chennai.

SC / SCA / ST Candidates of Tamil Nadu are exempted from Application fee.

Attested recent identical passport size photographs should be affixed to the application form and the scrutiny form. The Photograph must be taken as shown in the Instructions. (Annexure III ).

Note: If the Photograph is not a recent one taken at the time of submitting the application, the Application will be rejected.

Candidates shall ensure that completed application form with all particulars and enclosures reaches the Selection Committee within the date and time specified. Applications without enclosures are liable for rejection without any intimation to the candidate

Candidates must enclose only photocopies (not originals) of the following documents in the order indicated below along with the application, failing which the application is liable for rejection.

• Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) with Specialized in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work / Master Degree in Social work with specialization of Community Development integrated social work, family and child welfare and human resource management course (from a recognized University) completion certificate from the College where the candidate had undergone the course.
• Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) with Specialized in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work / Master Degree in Social work with specialization of Community Development, Integrated social work, family and child welfare and human resource management course (from a recognized University) Degree Certificate or provisional pass certificate from the University concerned to which the college is affiliated.
• First year/ semester to final year/semester Master Degree in Social Work ( MSW) with Specialized in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work / Master Degree in Social work with specialization of Community Development, Integrated social work, family and child welfare and human resource management course (from a recognized University) Mark sheets issued by the University concerned.
• Community Certificate issued by the competent authority with Office Seal
• Birth Certificate or copy of H.Sc., Certificate / School Leaving Certificate / College Leaving Certificate
• Attempt Certificate in Final Year Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) with Specialized in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work / Master Degree in Social work with specialization of Community Development in Integrated social work, family and child welfare and human resource management course (from a recognized University) from the College/University concerned.

The merit list for admission of candidates for M. Phil (Clinical Social Work) Course will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the eligible candidates in all the year / semester examinations of Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) with Specialized in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work / Master Degree in Social work with specialization of Community Development, Integrated social work, family and child welfare and human resource management course (from a recognized University) put together which is reduced to the base of 100 marks .

 COUNSELLING PROCEDURE:

Admission to M. Phil (Clinical Social Work ) course shall be made by  counselling on the basis of merit applying the various rules of reservation in force wherever applicable.

The candidates will be called for counselling as per their merit and they may exercise their option as per the eligibility norms mentioned in the prospectus, availability of seats and communal reservation in force.

Candidates who are absent at the time of counselling without a valid reason for absence will not be considered for admission. However, the Selection Committee reserves the right to permit the candidate to attend the counselling later, if seats are available, if a valid reason for absence is communicated to the Selection Committee before the commencement of the counselling. The Candidate so permitted can be admitted only if seats are available at the time of counseling when she/he actually attends.

Due to unforeseen reasons if a candidate cannot attend the counselling on the specified date and time, he / she can authorize a representative to attend the counselling on his/ her behalf. The authorized representative should produce an authority letter for allotment in the format given in the Annexure IV (A & B) along with requisite original documents. The allotment made to the authorized representative shall be binding on the candidate.
