DCET 2019 Exam - Dates, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

Delhi Common Entrance Test 2019 or DCET 2019 is the entrance examination for admission to Dip. (Applied Art), Dip. (Architectural Assistantship Engg.), Dip. (Art Teacher), Dip. (Automobile Engg.), Dip. (Cosmetology and Health) and other courses. DCET 2019 is conducted by Department of Training and Technical Education, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.

DCET for the year 2019 has been announced by Department of Training and Technical Education, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi and will be held from 08/06/2019 to 09/06/2019. The application forms will be available from 01/04/2019 till 31/05/2019. The exam is in written mode. It is being conducted in English and Hindi languages. Admit card will be available from 29/05/2019. Result is expected to be announced on 22/06/2019.

DCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Conditions:

The candidate should have passed 10th class or any other examination recognized as equivalent to 10th class examination, conducted by CBSE / other board with minimum 35% or 3.7 CGPA aggregate. The subjects Science, Mathematics and English are compulsory and the candidate should have passed in each of these three subjects. 
Test 2For candidates applying for Modern

The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in any stream of 10+2 or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum 35% marks in aggregate of the best three subjects including English for MOP (Eng.) and Hindi or Sanskrit for
MOP (Hindi). The candidate should have obtained pass marks in the relevant subject i.e. English for MOP (English) and Hindi / Sanskrit for MOP (Hindi).
Test 3For candidates applying for Pharmacy Passed 12th Std. examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics / Biology (Botany and Zoology).
Test 4For candidates applying for Lateral Entry
(For Delhi region candidates only).

Passed 12th Std examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics / Biology ( Botany and Zoology) OR 12th Science (with Mathematics as one of the Subject) or 12th Science with Vocational OR 12th Science with Technical
10th + (2years ITI) with appropriate Trade in that order shall be eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Course(s) of appropriate Programme. The ITI s/ ITCs must be from Institutes located only in Delhi and affiliated to DGE&T/BTE, Delhi.ITI student who had already appeared for his/her final exam has to submit their passed certificate / mark sheet on or before 30/11/2019 otherwise his / her provisional admission stands cancelled. 

10th + ITI (2 years) with appropriate Trade  against 20% supernumerary seats in analogous disciplines of Architectural Assistantship, Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering (Digital Electronics), Electronics Engineering (Medical Electronics), Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance Engineering), - Polymer Technology, Production Engineering and Civil Engineering, (Public Health & Environmental Engineering), Information Technology Enabled Services & Management (ITES &M), Tool & Die Making.


  • Candidates passing /qualifying class 10th under the grading system should have obtained minimum pass grade in the compulsory subjects i.e., Science, Mathematics and English. 
  • Any other criteria as prescribed by CBSE in new pattern.

Age limit for transgender is maximum upper age limit in each category.

Physical Fitness :

All the students shall be required to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner (Annexure- III) at the time of admission.

    Application Form Filling Instructions

    • Aadhar number or any valid govt. approved photo ID of the candidate is required for online submission of application form for CET - 2019.
    • Candidates are advised to go through the Information Bulletin carefully and acquaint themselves with all requirements before filling the application form for CET - 2019.
    • It will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to make ensure that he / she is eligible to apply and fulfils all the conditions prescribed for the admission.
    • If ineligibility of the candidate is detected at any stage, before or after the examination/declaration of results, or during any stage of the course, his / her candidature / admission will be cancelled without any notice. Disciplinary action will also be taken against him / her and entire fee will also be forfeited.
    • A separate application form is to be filled for each Test. Only one application shall be allowed per candidate per test.
    • Candidate shall download admit card with instructions and check whether all details provided by him / her are correct or not. In case of any problem, please contact Helpdesk at Pusa Institute of Technology, Pusa, Delhi-110012. 
    • The fee (in Indian Rupees) for CET-2019 is Rs. 400/- +bank charges as applicable.
    • The online fee once paid will not be refunded (full or partial) under any circumstances.
    • Multiple payments of fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.
    • Mode of CET - 2019 Fees submission: The fee should be submitted online either by credit card / debit card / net banking on web portal.

    Examination Day Instructions

    Procedure to be followed in the Examination Hall

    • Fifteen minutes before the commencement of the test, each candidate will be given a  sealed Test Booklet with an answer sheet placed inside it.
    • Immediately on receipt of the test booklet, each candidate is expected to fill in the required particulars on the cover page of the test booklet with a black ballpoint pen only. He / she will not open the paper seal of the test booklet until asked to do so by the invigilator. He / she will also read instructions given on the cover page of Test Booklet.
    • Five minutes before the commencement of the test, the candidate will be asked to break open the seal of the test booklet. He/she will take out the answer-sheet carefully so that no stray mark of any kind is made on the answer sheet. Adequate precaution should be taken so that no portion of the paper tape may stick to the answer sheet and close the test booklet.
    • Candidates should check carefully that the Test Booklet Code filled in the Answer Sheet is the same as that printed on Test Booklet.
    • Candidates will then write the required particulars on SIDE – 1 and SIDE – 2 of the answer-sheet with a black ballpoint pen as already explained. After this, the candidates will wait for the signal by the invigilator to start marking the answers.
    • After completing the test and before handing over the Answer Sheet to the invigilator, the candidates are advised to make sure that all the particulars required in the test booklet and the OMR answer sheet, particularly the Roll No. and the Test Booklet code, have been correctly written at Side - 1 & 2. 
    • A signal will be given at the beginning of the test and at half time. A signal will also be given at the closing time when the candidate must stop marking the answers and handover the OMR Answer Sheet to the Invigilator in the room / hall.

    Other Important Information :

    • A candidate, who comes after the commencement of the test, will not be allowed to take the test.
    • Candidates shall not leave the hall without handing over the OMR Answer-Sheet to the Invigilator on duty.

    Rough Work :

    A candidate will not do any rough work on the answer-sheet. All rough work, if any, is to be done in the space provided in the test booklet only.
