Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research Entrance Exam for Postgraduate Courses 2019 or JIPMER PG Entrance Exam 2019 is the entrance examination for admission to M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry), M.Sc. (MLT) (Microbiology), M.Sc. (MLT) (Pathology), M.Sc. (Medical Physiology), M.Sc. (Biostatistics) and other courses. JIPMER PG Entrance Exam 2019 is conducted by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.

JIPMER PG Entrance Exam for the year 2019 has been announced by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research and will be held on 22/06/2019. The application forms will be available from 25/04/2019 till 24/05/2019. The exam is in online mode. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. It is being conducted in English language. Admit card will be available from 10/06/2019. Result is expected to be announced on 28/06/2019.

M.Sc. Allied Health Science Courses

Course Eligibility
M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry

Applicant should have qualified in a 3 year B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Biochemistry or Chemistry as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University. 

DURATION OF THE COURSE:

  • The duration of the course is 3 (Three) years.
  • There is no provision for sponsored / nominated candidates
  • There is no stipendiary provisions during the course of study.
M.Sc. MLT - Microbiology

Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Microbiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.

  • The duration of the course is 2 (Two) years.

M.Sc. MLT - Pathology

M.Sc. Medical Physiology

Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Physiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.

DURATION OF THE COURSE:

  • The duration of the course is 3 (Three) years.
  • There is no provision for sponsored / nominated candidates.
  • There is no stipendiary provisions during the study
M.Sc. Biostatistics (Medical Biometrics)A Candidate who has passed the Degree Examination in B.Sc. degree in Statistics (Major) OR B.Sc. degree in Mathematical Science with Statistics as a subject from any recognized University OR an examination of some other University accepted by the institute as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission.
M.Sc. NeurotechnologyA Candidate who has passed the Degree Examination in B.Sc. degree in Neurotechnology OR B.Sc. degree in Science followed by Diploma in Neurotechnology (2 years regular course) from any recognized University shall be eligible for admission.

M.Sc. Nursing Course

  • Passed the qualification of B.Sc. Nursing Degree of this Institute or any other University accepted as equivalent thereof.
  • Should have registered with the State Registration Council of Nursing and Mid-wifery.
  • B.Sc. Nursing graduate should have one year of experience in a hospital or in a
  • College or in a School of Nursing or in Community Health Program after registration in State Nursing Council on or before 31.07.2019
  • Minimum of one year of work experience prior or after Post-basic B.Sc. Nursing 31.07.2019
  • In case of male candidate, they should have passed any other course recommended by Indian Nursing Council in the place of Mid-wifery. Those who have studied Mid - wifery only are eligible for admission to Branch II and V.
  • Candidate shall be medically fit.
  • Candidates who have obtained Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (P.B. B.Sc. Nursing) qualification from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) are NOT eligible for admission to M.Sc.(Nursing) course at JIPMER.

Master of Public Health (MPH)
Course Eligibility
Master of Public Health
  • Any applicant with qualification of M.B.B.S Degree / B.D.S (Dental) / B.E., /B.Tech. ( Any Branch), (B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.V.Sc. (Veterinary Science) / AYUSH / Allied Health or Social Sciences of any recognized University / Statutory Body, in first attempt with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • TWO years of completed work experience in public health system is desirable (on or before 31.07.2019).
  • Medical / Nursing Graduates should have registered with their respective state Registration Council.

DURATION OF THE COURSE:

  • The duration of the course is 2 (Two) years.
  • There is no stipendiary provisions during the course of study
  • There is a provision for sponsored / deputed candidates.

Requirements for admission of Sponsored / Deputed Candidates

  • Candidates working as a Program Officers (Medical / Non-medical) under various national health programmes in Central Govt. /State Govt./Autonomous Body / Public Sector Organization would be considered under Sponsored / Deputed category.
  • The selected and admitted candidates should also pay the necessary fees.
  • The application of sponsored / deputed candidates should be forwarded through proper channel with the certificates given in Annexure-III before the last date.
  • Sponsored / Deputed candidates also have to appear in the Entrance Examination securing not less than 50% of marks.
  •  These sponsored seats will not be pooled in the General seats

PBD (Post Basic Diploma in Nursing)

  • Must be a registered nurse (R.N. & R.M.) or equivalent.
  • Possess Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with one year experience as Staff Nurse or B.Sc. Nursing or equivalent. On or before 31.07.2019
  • The prescribed experience will be calculated only after obtaining the license from the state nursing council.

AGE LIMIT:

The Upper age limit is 40 years as on 24.05.2019 which is the last date of Close of Online Registration i.e. they should have born on or after 24.05.1979 and the age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / Service candidates are as per Government rules.

DURATION OF THE COURSE:

The duration of the course is one year. However the maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed two years

Post Graduate Diploma / Fellowship (PGD / PGF) Course

Postgraduate fellowship in Family Planning

DURATION OF THE COURSE:

  • The duration of the course is 1 (One) year.
  • There is no provision for sponsored / nominated candidates
  • Stipend of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand) for per month for 12 months will be awarded.

    SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION : THROUGH ON-LINE MODE ONLY.

    • Candidates seeking admission to entrance examination are required to apply on-line mode only. (Any other mode of application will not be accepted.)
    • Log on to link in the Home page www.jipmer.edu.in. and navigate to the link “Apply on-line M.Sc. / MPH / PBD / PGD / PGF / Ph.D. Courses admission – 2019”.
    • Read the prospectus and instruction carefully.

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPLOADING PHOTOGRAPH / SIGNAUTRE:

    • One (1) recent colour passport size photograph with light background is required.
      • Black & White / Polaroid photographs are not acceptable.
    • Photograph MUST be taken on or after 31.01.2019.

    IMPORTANT

    • The photograph must be taken with a placard while the placard is being held by the  candidate indicating name of candidate and date of taking photograph. In case name and date  are written on the photograph after taking it, the application will be rejected. 
    • The name and date on the photograph should be legible.

    NOTE: Candidate must upload photograph and signature to correct specified fields.

    Do not make any mistake in uploading signature and photograph.

    • Candidate must have in softcopy/digital of PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOGRAPH (30mm width x 45mm Height) and save it as “Candidate Photograph.jpg” provided by photographer. Keep size of photograph minimum size 10KB, as the maximum size limit is 80KB.
    • Candidate has to affix his/her SIGNATURE in an area of 80mm Width X 35mm Height on paper with a black ball point pen. Scan that paper. Cut Signature is of 80mm Width X 35mm Height and save it as “Candidate Signature.jpg”. Keep size of Signature minimum size 10KB, as the maximum size limit is 80 KB

    INSTRUCTION FOR UPLOADING COMMUNITY / OPH CERTIFICATE (IF APPLICABLE) 

    If a candidate belongs to other than UR category, he/she should upload his/her caste / community  certificate.

    If a candidate belongs to PwD category, he /she should upload his/her disability certificate. Candidate should scan the Caste/Community/OPH certificate (whichever is applicable) and save it as “Community Certificate”/ “PwD certificate” (whichever is applicable) as JPEG/JPG/PDF format. Keep size of Community/PwD Certificate within limit is 800 KB (Maximum size will be allowed for uploading the certificates)

    Examination Day Instructions

    • PBD / PGD / PGF Courses: Candidates should report at the exam venue by 08.00 a.m. Entry to examination center closes at 09:15 a.m. Entry will NOT be permitted beyond 09:15 a.m. under any circumstance. This is to facilitate completing all the formalities including biometrics and photo capture. Exam starts at 10:00 a.m. Candidate will NOT be permitted to leave the exam hall before 11:30 a.m. (i.e. time of close of examination)
    • M.Sc. / MPH / PhD Courses: Candidates should report at the exam venue by 12.30 p.m. Entry to examination center closes at 01:15 p.m. Entry will NOT be permitted beyond 01:15 p.m. under any circumstance. This is to facilitate completing all the formalities including biometrics and photo capture. Exam starts at 02:00 p.m. Candidate will NOT be permitted to leave the exam hall before 03:30 p.m. (i.e. time of close of examination)
    • Candidates are requested to be available in their allotted exam centres 2 hours before the commencement of the exam to avoid unnecessary tussle in the last minute. They also advised to visit the exam venue one day before the examination.
    • Candidates should carry ONLY Hall Ticket along with Valid Identity proof (in original) and photocopy (Xerox) of the same ID proof inside the hall. Candidates will NOT be allowed to take the examination without valid Hall Ticket & Valid ID Proof.

    • The candidate is solely responsible to get the signature and seal of the centre Representative / Invigilator on their Hall ticket. Failure to do so is liable for disqualification. Before leaving the hall, photocopy of the ID proof should be handed over to Invigilator.
    • Biometric authentication through digital device and hard copy of signature and fingerprint in attendance sheet will be taken. Cooperation of the candidate is solicited.
    • Candidate will NOT be permitted to take any other papers except hall ticket and valid Identity proof and photocopy of the same ID proof.
    • Cellular phones, calculators, watch, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in-calculators / memory, ear phones and other electronic gadgets etc. will not be permitted. (Arrangements will NOT be made by the duty staff for safe keeping and returning the above gadgets if brought).Candidates are solely responsible for the safe keeping of their belongings
    • In case any candidate is caught or found to use any unfair means he / she shall be liable for summarily disqualification for this exam and subsequent years of exam.
    • Use of unfair means / impersonation will lead to summarily cancellation of selection / admission.
    • JIPMER reserves the right to reschedule the date / time of the examination, depending upon local conditions.
    • Candidates taking the Entrance Examination will be subjected to thorough frisking before being allowed into the hall.
    • Biometric finger print and image capture will be done for every candidate on the day of Examination inside the examination hall by the authorized personnel.
    • The candidate must show, on demand, the hall ticket for admission in the examination hall. A candidate who does not produce the hall ticket issued by the JIPMER. He / She will not be admitted to the Examination Hall under any circumstances, by the Center Superintendent.
    • During the examination, the invigilator will check hall ticket of the candidates to satisfy himself / herself about the identity of each candidate.
    • Candidates are advised to check the seating plan and identify the room / lab allotted as per their Hall Ticket number, which will be displayed outside the halls.
    • Candidates will not be permitted to leave the exam hall until the exam is over except acute health related issues.
    • Smoking in the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited.
    • Tea, coffee, cold drinks or food & snacks are NOT allowed in the Examination Halls.
    • The test will start exactly at the time mentioned in the Hall Ticket and an announcement to this effect will be made by the invigilator.
    • The candidate must sign in the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place and affix the Left Index Finger impression against the appropriate column of the attendance sheet. Failure to comply with this requirement will lead to the annulling of his / her candidature without any prior intimation.
    • For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of examination for any reason, re-examination shall NOT be held by the JIPMER under any circumstances.
    • Hall Ticket is issued subject to condition that if ineligibility is detected at any stage, the candidature will be cancelled
    • Once inside the Examination Centre / Premises, all candidates will be under surveillance & activities will be monitored. Hence, candidates are advised NOT to indulge into any unlawful activities which will invite disqualification & legal actions.
    • Selection / Admission of M.Sc./MPH/PGD/PGF/ PBD students at JIPMER Puducherry will be based on the online Entrance examination conducted by JIPMER, Puducherry only. No other agencies (NEET / AIIMS / Any other) are entitled to conduct or select / admit candidates of M.Sc. /MPH / PGD / PGF / PBD / Ph.D Course for JIPMER Puducherry

    The allotted venues within the perimeter of 20 to 25 Km from the main city. Hence, the candidates are advised to visit the exam venue one day prior to the exam date.

    On the exam date, the candidates are advised to be in the centre two (2) hours before the examination commence.
