Jamia Millia Islamia, a Public Central University has been established in 1920, originally at Aligarh in United Provinces which in 1925 initially moved to Karol Bagh, Delhi and later built up in Jamia Nagar. In 1988, it became the Central University by an Act of Parliament since then it is expanding in different directions achieving the new dimensions.

If you do not have Net Banking facility/Credit Card or ATM-cum Debit Card, you can pay the fee in cash at any branch of State Bank of India through the Challan downloaded from the Entrance Test Portal. You will be able to download the duly filled up State Bank of India challan from the Entrance Test Portal only whne you select the "cash payment" option while filling the application form online.
All applicants should note, that :
1. No printout of online submitted application form or proof of payment of Entrance Test fee is to be submitted to the University. However, the candidates should retain a copy of the said documents for their own record.
2. No document is required to be submitted along with the application form submitted online.
3. Original certificates issued by competent authority supporting your filled in details
will be asked from you ONLY at the time of admission. If data provided in the online
application is not supported by appropriate documents then your application / claim
for admission shall be summarily rejected.
The Test will consist of 3-parts:
Part I - General Ability Test: The test will consist of 75 multiple choice questions covering the areas : General Intelligence, General Awareness and Teaching Aptitude (25 marks each)
Part II - Language Proficiency Test (The test in this paper will cover contents up to class X level): A candidate has to take a language proficiency test in the language, he/she has opted as medium of instruction viz., English, Hindi or Urdu. The test will consist of 35 objective type (Multiple choice) items.
Part III - Subject Comprehension Test (The test in this paper will cover content up to graduation level):
A candidate has to take subject proficiency test in subject he/she has applied for. The test will consist of
60 multiple choice test items. Test for all subjects will be conducted in English, except for Urdu, Arabic,
Persian (Test will be constructed in Urdu) and Hindi (Test will be constructed in Hindi).

(i) Information on availability of Admit Card status shall be provided to candidates on their respective registered mobile numbers through SMS.
(ii) Once Admit Card is available, a candidate should print it by logging into the Admission Portal on the link: www.jmicoe.in
(iii) After printing the Admit Card, a candidate is required to paste his / herself-attested passport size
recent coloured photograph in the space provided. Candidate should follow the printed
instructions on admit card.
Conduct of Interview
Candidates short listed for interview and/or any other specified component of the test are required to bring their Admit Card issued for the Entrance Test and self-attested copies of the documents listed.
Documents Required for Completion of Admission Formalities
(i) Selected candidates must complete their admission formalities on or before the date notified as per the Admission Schedule provided in the Admission List. The result of the candidate should be complete in all respects on the day of admission.They are required to bring their Admit Card issued for the Entrance Test and attested copies of the following documents, along with the originals, at the time of admission.
In case an intervening /gap period is involved, the candidate has to submit a certificate/ Affidavit from Class1 Gazetted Officer / Notary Public for the entire intervening / gap period showing year-wise preoccupation and non-indulgence in any criminal activities after leaving the Institution last attended.
Proof of permanent address as declared in the Application Form with the name of the nearest Police Station and the District.
Experience and No Objection Certificates from the present employer(s).
Self-employed candidates shall provide authentic evidence in support of their self employment.
(ii) In case of programs for which the eligibility requirement is graduation (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.etc.), a candidate whose result of the qualifying examination has not been declared may be considered for provisional admission subject to
a) Submission of a certificate issued by the concerned College / University to the effect that he/she has appeared in the final semester / year of the concerned qualifying examination.
b) Verification of transcripts / Markssheets for the period preceding the final semester / year of the qualifying examination to establish the minimum eligibility requirements of the program that he / she is clear in all the papers preceding final semester / year
c) Submission of the first declared result of the qualifying examination for verification in the concerned Department / Faculty / Centre of JMI, latest by September 15, 2018.
(iii) The original certificates will be returned after verification. However, JMI may retain the original transcript/ result of the qualifying examination for a period of TWO months from the start date of the session.
(iv) Selected candidates will have to fill “Student Registration Form” (to be obtained from the concerned Dean’s Office/Department/Centre) giving full details about themselves. Wherever applicable, the candidates will also indicate their choice for courses they wish to opt for as subsidiary/optional.
(v) Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate in original with in 60 days from the date of admission must be submitted, failing which the admission of the student is liable to be cancelled.
(vi) Classes shall commence as per the schedule notified in the Academic Calendar available on the
University Website. However, classes of FIRST SEMESTER only of all programs of Session 2018-
19 shall commence from August 01, 2018.
