Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. Any B-School - national or international - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates.     Candidate can take MAT as 

    • Paper Based Test (PBT) or 
    • Computer Based Test (CBT) or
    • Both PBT & CBT

    Note :

    • Candidate can opt for both the tests i.e. PBT and CBT by paying an extra fees of 1100/- in addition to 1550/-.
    • Candidates opting for both PBT and CBT will have the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutions for sending their scores in addition to existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutions i.e. they can select 7 Management Institutions in total.

    MAT May Syllabus 2019

    The MAT has five sections, each section having forty questions. The total 200 questions are to be attempted over 150 minutes. The test structure is given below :

    Examination Day Instructions

    • Candidates are to report to the allotted test centre at least 90 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the test.
    • The test room will be opened about 60 minutes before the commencement of the test. The candidates are to be seated at the allotted place.
    • Candidates are to report to the allotted test centre at least 90 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the test.
    • Candidates will be permitted entry in to the test centre upto half an hour before the commencement of the test.
    • Document: Admit Card duly completed and valid ID Proof. Writing Materials: Blue / Black Ball Point Pen.
    • The test room will be opened about 60 minutes before the commencement of the test. The candidates are to be seated at the allotted place.
    • Your Admit Card and valid ID Proof will be verified during the test. One part of Admit Card will be given to you as proof of your appeared in the test. Please ensure that this is duly signed by you and the test invigilator.

    Paper Based Test

    • The candidate will be provided a sealed Question Booklet and an OMR Answer Sheet. Do not open the Question Booklet until announced.
    • Fill the necessary information in the space provided on the cover of the Question Booklet and the Answer Sheet before commencement of the test.
    • The candidates are to sign the attendance sheet during the test duly endorsing the Question Booklet Series as given on the Question Booklet and other details.

    Computer Based Test 

    • Computer Based Test means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate submits the answers through the use of keyboard or mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer.
    • There is no time limit for individual parts of the test. The candidate can go back and change any of his/her answers among the 200 questions.

    AVAILABILITY OF ADMIT CARDS ON THE WEBSITE(Separate for PBT and CBT)

    • Paper Based Test (PBT)         : 29th, April 2019
    • Computer Based Test (CBT)  : 10th, May 2019 

    Admit Card contains Candidate's Name, Form No, Roll No, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her in the case of CBT.

    The admit card for written test will NOT be sent by post or email.
