Readiness for filling up Application Form

A candidate can apply for the NEET (UG) – 2020 by logging on to NTA website.

Before submission of application form, make the following preparations: 

• The information to be filled in the Online Application Form such as names of Father/Mother and Candidate with correct spellings, Aadhaar Number (last 4 digits)/Class XII Roll number issued by the Board/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/ Bank Account Number/Other valid Govt. Identity Card Number, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number, email id, etc. may be kept ready. Candidates are advised to check the “Replica of Application Form” as given in (Appendix-XVI), before actual filling of Application.
• The candidates need to provide any one of the following identity details given below:

Candidate should have scanned images in JPG/ JPEG format only, for uploading as part of submission of his/her online application:

• latest Passport size Photograph (size: 10 kb to 200 kb)
  
• Post Card size photograph (4”X6”) (Size: 50 kb - 300 kb),
  
• Signature (size: 4 kb to 30 kb) and 
  
• Left hand thumb impression (In case of any eventuality of left hand thumb being unavailable, right hand thumb impression may be used.) - file size: 10 kb to 50 kb)
  

Instructions for completing Online Application Form

• The candidate, before submitting the application form online, must ensure his eligibility to appear in the test. The candidate is required to go through the Information Bulletin carefully and be clear about all requirements with regard to the submission of the Application Form.
  
• The Candidate should fill in complete correspondence and permanent address with the pin code, e-mail address and mobile number (own or parents only) for future correspondence.
  
• Candidates must ensure that mobile numbers and e-mail ID filled in the online Application Form are their own or parents only as NTA will communicate through SMS or e-mail on the given mobile number and e-mail ID.
  
• Candidate should not give the postal address, contact number/mobile number and e-mail ID of Coaching Centres in their Online Application Form.
  
• Candidates those passed should fill Code [02 to 07] against the column provided for Qualifying Examination. If a candidate does not fall within the qualifications prescribed as per Code numbers 02 to 07, then the candidate needs to furnish complete details under the column ‘others’.
  
• Candidates appearing in Class XII in 2020 should select qualifying code as 01. 
  
• The Application Form other than the one filled in online mode will not be accepted. The Candidates are not required to send the Confirmation Page of Online Application Form or any other document to the NTA. However, the candidates are advised to preserve at least four copies of the Confirmation Page along with the proof of fee paid for future reference.
  
• Candidates from UT of J&K and Ladakh are required to submit online Self Declaration as indicated in para – 4.3 (b) of Chapter-4 for seats under 15% All India Quota.

• Applications of candidates submitting false and fabricated information will be rejected and such candidates will be further debarred from appearing in examinations conducted by NTA. Such candidates will also be prosecuted under applicable laws for criminal offence and suitably punished.
  
• Incomplete application and applications not in accordance with instructions are liable to be rejected without any further intimation. 
  
• The examination fee once deposited will not be refunded. Fee will neither be carried forward to a future examination nor refunded.
  
• Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Candidates must note that mere deduction of fee from the bank account is not a proof of fee payment. The payment should be supported by fee payment and generation of Confirmation Page.
  
• Instructions in the Information Bulletin may change /be updated based on decisions taken by the NTA and other authorities from time to time. Candidates are advised to regularly check the NTA website for any further updates or information.
  
• NTA reserves the right to withdraw permission, granted inadvertently if any, to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the NEET (UG) - 2020 even though the Admit Card have been issued by the NTA.

31st January 2020:

Last opportunity for fee payment of NEET (UG)-2020 aspirants 

In view of representations received from various candidates that they have not been able to complete the application process due to multiple reasons, one more (last) opportunity is being given to such candidates who have already completed the Step I of submission of Application Form and registered themselves for NEET UG 2020 examination.  

Such candidates only are now allowed to complete the following Step II, III and IV between 03-02-2020 and 09-02-2020 (up to 11:50 pm):  

Step II: Fill in the complete Application Form 

Step III: Uploading of scanned images 

Step IV: Payment of Fee and Status of receipt of Online Application Form with Fee

18th March 2020 Notice:

Regarding filling in the Application of NEET UG 2020 by the aspirants from Kashmir Valley, Leh and Kargil

In view of the above, it was notified that, in addition to the existing online Application facility, the Candidate(s) in the Kashmir Valley , Leh and Kargil can also submit the Application Form offline by using any of the following methods: 

• downloading the form available on the website ntaneet.nic.in and filling in the hard copy, depositing it at the Nodal Centre mentioned below and obtaining a Receipt therefrom. 
• Using a hard copy of the form available at the Nodal Centre, filling in, depositing it there itself and obtaining a Receipt therefrom.

Note: Corrections in the particulars in the Online Application Forms shall be accepted 31st May 2020 upto 05.00 PM and submission of fee upto 11.50 PM.

Examination Pattern:

• Option of medium of Question Paper should be carefully chosen while filling in the Application Form. The option once chosen cannot be changed.
• Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only.
• Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi.
• Candidates opting for Regional languages would also be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in selected Regional language and English.
• In case of any ambiguity in translation of a question in the test, its English version shall be treated as final and the decision of NTA shall be final in this regard.
• Option of Regional languages will be available as per the following table only: -

• Candidates qualifying NEET (UG) – 2020 would be eligible for All India Quota and other quotas under the State Governments/Institutes, irrespective of the medium of the examination, subject to other eligibility criteria.

Instructions to be followed in the Examination Hall

General

• The Examination Centre will open two (02) hours before the commencement of the test. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after 1:30 p.m. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they leave home well in advance considering all facts like traffic, location of the centre and weather conditions, etc. Candidates are expected to take their seats immediately after the opening of the Examination Hall. 

• The candidate must show, on demand, the Admit Card for admission in the Examination Hall. A candidate who does not possess the valid Admit Card shall not be allowed to enter the Examination Hall by the Centre Superintendent.
  
• A seat with a roll number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates must find out and occupy their allotted seats. If a candidate is found appearing in the Examination from a seat or room other than the allotted one, the candidature shall be cancelled.
  
• During the examination time, the Invigilator will check Admit Card of the candidates to ascertain the identity of each candidate. The Invigilators will also put their own signature in the place provided in the Answer Sheet and on the Attendance Sheet.
  
• A candidate who comes after 01:30 p.m. shall not be permitted to enter the Examination Centre under any circumstances.
  
• Candidates must bring ONLY the following documents on the day of examination at the test centre. Candidates who will not bring these will not be allowed to sit in the examination.
  
• Printed copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA website with passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Application form pasted on it).
  
• One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the specific space in the attendance sheet at Centre during NEET (UG) - 2020 Examination.
  
• One Post Card Size (4”X6”) color photograph with white background should be pasted on the Proforma downloaded with the Admit Card. The proforma with Post Card size photograph shall be handed over to the Invigilator in the Examination Hall.
  
• Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original and valid and like PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/Aadhaar Card /Ration Card/Class XII Roll number issued by the Board/any other valid photo ID issued by the Government.
  
• PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category.
  
• Scribe (Letter of Undertaking of using own scribe), if applicable.
  
• Candidates are not allowed to bring any barred item or any item which could be used for Unfair practices. Possession of any such article with the candidates inside the Centre premises will attract the penalties of unfair practices
  
• Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the barred items to the venue of the examination as arrangement for safe keeping will not be made and candidates found in possession of these items will not be allowed to enter the Examination Centre. 
  
• No candidate will leave his/her seat or the Examination Room/Hall until the Test concludes as per the schedule. Candidates should not leave the Room/Hall without handing over their OMR Sheets to the invigilator on duty. 
  
• Smoking in the examination centre is strictly prohibited. 
  
• Water Bottles, Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks etc. are not allowed to be taken by the candidates into the examination centre. Candidates suffering from diabetes are allowed to carry into the examination hall the eatables (with prior intimation) like sugar tablets / fruits (like banana/apple/orange) and transparent water bottle. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/ candy/sandwich etc. 
  
• The Test will start exactly at the time mentioned in the Admit Card and an announcement to this effect will be made by the Invigilator. 
  
• Before the start of Examination, important instructions will be communicated to the candidates by the Invigilator for strict compliance by the candidates.
  
• A signal will be given at the beginning of the examination and at half-time. A signal will also be given before the closing time when the candidate must stop marking the responses. 
  
• The candidate must sign twice on the Attendance Sheet at the specified place, first time immediately after the commencement of examination and second time while handing over the Answer Sheet to the Invigilator. The candidates are also required to put their left hand thumb Impressions in the space provided on the Attendance Sheet. 
  
• The candidate will check and ensure that the Test Booklet contains as many number of pages as are written on the top of the cover page.
  
• For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of test for any reason, re-test shall not be held by the NTA under any circumstances.
  
• The candidates, suffering from Diabetes, may be taken care of at the Centre as per the instructions issued by NTA. 

• Light clothes with long sleeves are not permitted. However in case, candidates come in cultural/ customary dress at the Examination Centre, they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time i.e. 12.30 pm so that there is enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination.
  
• Slippers, sandals with low heels are permitted. Shoes are not permitted.
  
• In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken before the Admit Cards are issued
  

It is desired that the candidates follow instructions issued by the NTA strictly. This will help NTA in the fair conduct of examination. 

Note: The NTA believes in the sanctity and fairness of conducting the Examination, however, it also believes in the sensitivity involved in frisking (girl) candidates and will issue comprehensive instructions accordingly to the staff and other officials at the Examination Centres.

• The Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidates, subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility conditions.
• The candidate has to download the Admit Card from the NTA website onwards and appear for the Examination at the given Centre on Date and Timing as indicated in their Admit Card.  
• No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre, on Date and Timings other than that allotted to them in their Admit card. 
  
• In case candidates are unable to download Admit Cards from the website, the candidate should approach the Help Line between 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
  
• The candidates are advised to read the instructions on the Information Bulletin as well as on the Admit Card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination. 
  
• In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his / her photograph and signatures shown in the Admit Card and Confirmation Page, the candidate may immediately approach the Help Line between 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. In such cases, candidates would appear in the examination with the already downloaded Admit Card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make correction in the record later.
  

Note:

• Candidate may please note that Admit Card will not be sent by post.
  
• In no case, the duplicate Admit Card for NEET (UG)-2020 would be issued at the Examination Centres
  
• Candidate must not mutilate the Admit Card or change any entry made therein.
  
• Candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Card in good condition for future reference.
  
• No Admit Card shall be issued to the candidates whose Applications are found to be incomplete for any reasons (including indistinct/ doubtful photographs/unsigned Applications) or who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria for the examination. 
  
• Issue of Admit Card, however, shall not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility which shall be further scrutinized at subsequent stages of admission process.
  

Display of Answer Key for challenge

• The NTA will display Answer Key of the questions, giving opportunity to the candidates to challenge, in case of any doubt in the answer key on the NTA website. For exact date of display of Answer Key, candidates may regularly check updates on NTA website after the examination. 
• Candidates will be given an opportunity to make online challenge against the Answer Key on payment of non-refundable processing fee of Rs.1000/- per answer challenged.  
• Challenges made by the candidates will be verified by the NTA with the help of its subject experts. If found correct, the answer key will be revised accordingly. Based on the revised Answer Key, result will be prepared and declared. 
• No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance / non acceptance of his / her challenge.  
• The key finalized after the challenge will be final. 

Display of recorded responses and Answer Keys for inviting challenges on NTA official website. Date shall be displayed on the NTA website

Post Examination Activities and Declaration of Result

• Display of OMR sheets and responses on website
• The NTA will display the images of OMR Answer Sheets and Responses graded by the Machine of all the candidates on the NTA website. For exact date of display of the images of OMR Answer Sheets and Responses, candidates may remain in touch with NEET website.
• Candidates will be given an opportunity to submit representation against the OMR grading on payment of non-refundable processing fee of Rs.1000/- per response challenged. 
• Representations made by the candidates against the OMR grading will be verified by the NTA from the actual record and the same will be updated in the data, if challenges are found correct. However, no intimation in this regard will be sent to individual candidate. 

All candidates are advised to remain in touch with the NTA website for viewing and downloading image of OMR/answer sheet and responses captured by the machines. 

Declaration of Result

• The National Testing Agency will conduct the NEET (UG) - 2020, evaluate the Answer Sheets and the result will be hosted on NTA website. The NTA will prepare the merit list as per the directives of DGHS, MCI and DCI. 
• No category wise result sheet will be prepared. As soon as the result is ready, NTA will host the results on the website and thereafter candidates may download the Result Sheets. 
• All Candidates appearing in NEET (UG) - 2020 must regularly check updates on website of NTA, MoH & FW, Medical Counselling Committee and Participating States / Universities / Institutions till conclusion of final round of Counselling.

Re - checking / re-evaluation of answer sheets

• The machine – gradable Answer Sheets are evaluated with extreme care and are repeatedly scrutinised.
• There is no provision for re-checking / re-evaluation of the answer sheets. This is because of the following reasons:
• The candidates are given an opportunity to make the representation on the OMR gradation of their OMR sheets and also given an opportunity to challenge the answer key in case of any doubt.
• The OMRs are machine gradable which are being evaluated through specific software impartial to all. 
• No correspondence in this regard will be entertained. 
  

Punishment for using unfairmeans practices

During the course of, before or after the examination if a candidate indulges in any of the above or similar practices, he / she shall be deemed to have used unfair practices and booked under UNFAIRMEANS (U.F.M.) case. The candidate would be debarred for 3 years in future and shall also be liable for criminal action and / or any other action as deemed fit.

Cancellation of Result:

The result of the candidates NEET (UG) - 2020 who indulge in Unfair means Practices will be cancelled and will not be declared. 

Similarly, the result of those candidates who appear from the Centre other than the one allotted to them, write on the Test booklet / OMR Sheet of other candidates or allow other candidates to write on their Test Booklet / OMR Sheet will be cancelled and will not be declared.
