NIU M.Phil. / Ph.D. Admission Test 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for the Entrance Exam:
- Candidates for admission to the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC/ST/OBC (noncreamy layer) and differently-abled candidates) or an equivalent grade.
Eligibility for a direct interview for the PhD Programme:
- M. Phil. degree or an equivalent programme is completed with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
- M. Phil. Course work is cleared with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
- M. Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending, subject to successful completion of the M. Phil degree vis-à-vis other aforesaid conditions.
- Qualified UGC NET-JRF/ CSIR NET-JRF/ DBT JRF/ ICMR JRF/ DST INSPIRE or equivalent examination /fellowship.
