Post Graduate Diploma in Management or PGDM is a Diploma course offered by the Business-schools/Colleges recognized by the Government of India, whereas Masters in Business Administration or MBA is a degree program offered by both Government as well as Private Universities. At the end of the day, it's one’s choice which course to go with. If you want to join the corporate environment either PGDM or MBA would make no difference. The difference however can be in the learning experience, as in PGDM you would be learning at a B-school.
Despite this, PGDM is somewhat more industry-oriented when compared to MBA, due to this reputed Business schools in India as well as Abroad give preference to PGDM students over the MBA ones. This is due to the reason that PGDM is more practical oriented, where the MBA is more theoretical oriented.
