Registration Details


Admission Registration

  • A student whose result of +2 examinations in Februar / March conducted by a School Board is published late, but not later than 14th August, 2019, may be admitted without late fee within 15 working days of the declaration of the result and his / her attendance shall be counted from the date of admission. This would be applicable to an Open School Board also. After expiry of this period, the approval for late admission is required from the ViceChancellor. (See Rule 10 at Page No. 355 of P.U. Calendar Vol-III, 2016).
  • That a candidate who has been placed under compartment / re-appear in one subject only with at least 20% marks (Theory &Practical taken together) in the subject in which he / she has been placed in compartment in the +2 examination conducted by the Open School Board in
  • India shall be eligible to seek admission to the 1st Semester of B.A. / B.Sc.(General) / B.Com. / B.B.A. / B.C.A. course under 10+2+3 system of education. He / She should have cleared the compartment before the declaration of the first year result. If he / she could not submit the relevant papers / documents on the date of declaration of result then his / her admission will be automatically cancelled. {with effect from the academic session 2009-2010} (Amended vide Syndicate Para-16 dated 18.05.2014).

M.A. (Defence And Strategic Studies)

Bachelor's degree obtaining at least 45% marks in the subject of Post Graduate course ( Defence and Strategic Studies) or 50% marks in the aggregate or Bachelor's degree in any stream with 50% marks in the Aggregate or B.A. (Hons) in the subject of Postgraduate course (Defence and Strategic ) or Masters Degree examination in any of the subject. 

Candidate belonging to the Armed Forces i.e. Army, Navy & Air Force, Central Armed  Police forces (CAPF) after having put in five years of regular service provided they have passed the graduation examination in any discipline.  

 M.A. (Comparative Religion)A Bachelor’s degree obtaining at least 45% marks in the subject of Postgraduate course or 50% marks in the aggregate. OR B.A. (Hons) in the subject of Postgraduate course / B.Sc. (Hons. School) course. OR Master's Degree examination in any other subject. OR Passed B.A. / B.Sc. with History, Ancient History, Religious Studies, Religious and Sikh Study, Sikh Study, Comparative Study of Religion, Philosophy, Sociology, Social work, Modern Indian Language (Hindi / Urdu / Punjabi / Gurumukhi Script) obtaining at least 45% marks shall also be eligible.
M.A. (Philosophy)Bachelor’s Degree obtaining 45% marks in the subject of Philosophy or 50% marks in Aggregate. OR B.A. (Hons.) in the subject of Philosophy or B.Sc. (Hons.) course. M.A. (Community Education and Development)Bachelor's Degree with 50% marks in any stream from a recognized University

B.A. with (Hons) in Education obtaining 50% marks in aggregate OR ii) B.Sc. (Hons.) School OR iii) A Bachelor's degree obtaining at least 45% marks in the subject/course of Education or 50% marks in aggregate

Provided that: Bachelor's degree in any stream with 50% marks and B.Ed. from any recognized Indian University. OR Bachelor's degree with 50% marks having studied at least one of these subjects viz. Education/ Philosophy / Psychology / Sociology/ Public Administration / History / Economics / Geography/ Political Science/ Anthropology OR iv) Master's degree in any other subject B) For Foreign Nationals: 50% marks or equivalent grade in graduate degree/equivalent degree in any discipline from Foreign University having certified by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

M.A. (Punjabi)

Bachelor's Degree obtaining at least 45% marks in the subject of Post-Graduate course or 50% marks in aggregate B.A./B.Sc ( Hons), OR Master's degree examination in any other subject provided the candidate has studied Punjabi compulsory at the graduate level.

Weightage :

  • The 15% weightage will be given to the student those who studied Punjabi as an elective subject at the graduate level.
  • The 15% weightage will be given to the student who studied B.A. (Hons.) in Punjabi at undergraduate level.
  • The 15% weightage will be given those who passed B.A. (Hons.) School in Punjabi at undergraduate level.
  • Those who passed elective Punjabi and Hons. (both) will be given 20%
  • Any exemption will be given to SC / ST candidate as per UGC norms.
M.A. (Sanskrit)Bachelor's Degree obtaining 45% marks in Sanskrit Subject or 50% in aggregate and B.A. with (Hons.) in Sanskrit. OR Passed 'Shastri' Examination either under 3-year (10+2+3) Degree Course (New Scheme) or under the Old Scheme (10+1+3) Degree Course. OR Master's Degree examination in any Other subject provided the candidate has studied Sanskrit at graduation level.
M.A. (Urdu)B.A. or equivalent with 45% in Urdu elective or 50 % aggregate.
M.A. (English)Bachelor's Degree obtaining at least 45% marks in English Elective or English Compulsory subject OR Bachelor's Degree in any faculty obtaining 50% marks in the aggregate. M.A. PunjabiBachelors Degree obtaining atleast 45% marks in the subject of Post-graduate Course or 50% marks in aggregate provided the candidate has passed Punjabi as an elective or literature subject. OR B.A. with (Hons) in Punjabi or B.Sc. (Hons.) Course OR Masters degree examination in any other subject provided the candidate has studied Punjabi(compulsory) at the graduate level
M.A. (Political Science)Bachelor's Degree obtaining at least 45% marks in the subject of Political Science, or 50% marks in the aggregate. OR B.A. with 45% marks in any social science discipline. OR B.A. with (Hons) in the subject of Political Science or B.Sc. (Hons.). OR Master's degree examination in any other subject.

Documents for admission

  • Original compartment earned certificate of +2 Examination for Compartment Cases on the basis of which the student is admitted (in case of compartment candidates).
  • Original lower examination pass and Migration Certificate in the case of the students who came from other Universities / Boards / Bodies / Councils.
  • Certificate from the Principal of the college concerned regarding the students coming from other Universities.
    • The deficient subject / s to be cleared by the candidate,
    • No deficiency (in case of no deficient subject).
  • Late admission approval from the Vice-Chancellor in case of students, admitted, after the normal dates prescribed by the University;
  • Original SC / ST / BC Certificate where 5% concession has been allowed.
  • Original Experience Certificate, wherever required;
  • Any other required document(s).
  • Computerized Registration Return will also be accepted for the courses other than BA / B.Sc. / B.Com. / BCA / BBA / B.Sc. Bio-informatics (Hons.), and B.Sc.(Bio-Tech) (Hons.), if a different type of paper or sticker is used for red and green type of Registration Return OR with some kind of identification. However, the columns of computerized Registration Return should be the same and in same sequence as provided in the printed proforma. Each page of computerized Registration Return should have the Certificate as mentioned on reverse of Registration Return Proforma duly stamped and signed by the Principal / Chairperson at the proper place.
