Eligibility: All applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in all their examinations starting with the secondary level. The applicants for the program must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a deemed University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE. A Master's Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 55% aggregate marks; OR A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 60% marks or equivalent grade point average; OR Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum 55% aggregate marks. In addition, managerial work experience in industry or in academics (in AICTE approved organizations/institutions), though not mandatory, will be given consideration in the selection process. Applicants must have a valid score in any one of the following exams: Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs, GATE, GRE, GMAT, or Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) taken during the current year or last two years (i.e., on or after June, 2017). JRF/SRF (UGC/CSIR/ICAR) should be valid before the commencement of the Ph.D. Program. Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the program will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before June 30, 2020. Interested candidates should submit an application form along with supporting documents as mentioned in the application form by 29 February, 2020 and pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 1000 for general (INR 500 for SC, ST, EWS and PH category). Request for change in category will not be entertained after submission of the application. Shortlisted candidates will be called to IIM Amritsar campus for personal interview, written test, area specific tests and a presentation on their research interests to assess their suitability for the Ph.D. Program.
