Mathematics is one of the most scoring subjects because it is not something where you have to learn to answer word to word. What it actually needs is clearing the concepts from the base and practice over time.
Maths is a subject which depends on how much you practice. It is the make and breaks section if you perform well it can shoot up your percentage but it can make a downturn if you are not consistent with the subject throughout.
PREPARATION TIPS
FOR INITIAL STAGE
The initial stage is one of the most important stages for us. Most of the students take it very lightly and they think that we have a lot of time, but this is the time when you can spend as much time as you want to clear your concepts, Learn everything from the very base. You can also learn concepts from your previous classes that you are not clear with.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
KNOW YOUR SYLLABUS AND MARKS DISTRIBUTION: This will allow you to have a clear picture right at the beginning. Knowing which chapters are the bases and need to be done first, which chapter has more weightage and needs more of your time and attention.
MAKE A STUDY SCHEDULE: Include maths into your everyday practise. I would recommend at least one to two hours of practice apart from any coaching classes you are taking. Or if you don't want to practise daily then you can do it on alternative days. But ensure this is additional practice and not homework questions from school or tuition centers.
MAKE EVERYDAY NOTES FOR FORMULAS: Maths is not a theory subject which you have to learn by heart but there are formulas and properties which you have to definitely learn by heart. Whatever chapter you pick up, make notes of it and try to revise them over the weekend.
PRACTICE: In maths you will see that the overall question remains the same just the values changes which changes our final answer. So we learn that cramping and mugging up a type of question will not lead you to success. Start with the NCERT examples. This will help you to cover all types of questions the examiner can ask then you move to the exercises in the book or you can move to help books like RS Aggarwal or RD Sharma and practice more questions on the type and then move to the NCERT exercises. Those exercises will now be a cakewalk for you.

The exam pattern is expected to change this is previous year data
The major aspects of the marking scheme remain the same and so the major topics you have to cover are still the same.
LAST MINUTE STRATEGY:
Start solving questions from mock papers and sample papers. There are a lot of 10 years available which you can refer to, such as all in one. They give you a mixed set of questions: 10 solved and 10 unsolved papers. Initially you can take up topic wise practise questions. Particularly in chapters you are weak in and then you can start with a 3 Hours paper. This will boost your confidence and allow you to practice a new set of questions.
Topics to Revise at Last Movement
Revise high weightage topics first, Topics from which you will definitely expect a question and that is TRIGONOMETRY, MENSTRUATION and STATISTICS.
Then come to middle range topics from which you can expect 2-3 questions but of less weightage and that is PROBABILITY, ARITHMETIC PROGRESSION
Now finally take out time for topics you can just flip over in less time. Look at CONSTRUCTIONS and just go through it how they are done there is no time to practice. Practice only 2-3 questions which you feel are important and you are not confident about. Look at formulas and relate it with question type. Go back to the question type which you have marked star in your notes and have a final look.
BE CONFIDENT AND TAKE PROPER REST:
Our attitude plays a very important role. If we have prepared well but are anxious and think we will not be able to perform we might actually not perform and fail to meet our expectations. But if you are moderately prepared and calm you will be able to solve questions using your own ability. Maths is not a paper where if you write word to word then only you fetch marks. It Is more of a logical ability which can be solved with the basic concepts you have been doing. So stay calm and motivated. Take proper sleep and don’t go inside with a headache and sad face.
