Experience The World Of Fabrics, Technology & Much More: Become A Textile Engineer In India

That branch of engineering that deals with textile production, technology, processes, merchandising and equipment is textile engineering. We all love experimenting and wearing comfortable and stylish clothes that truly personifies an individuality of a person. This fabric in a way is undermined by a lot or processes starting from the collection and processing of raw materials (cotton, wool, silk, etc) which further prepares yarn for raw materials. This yarn is subjected to the processes (weaving, knitting, spinning, etc) for manufacturing fabric which is again processed and subjected to dyeing and printing, and then ultimately fabricated into clothes. The end product is what we all wear i.e. clothes and apparels that we use.  This branch of engineering is highly involved in researching and development with every aspect of its processing and production. It also lays emphasis on marketing, management and merchandising of the textile industry which covers almost every topic and way out related to this branch of engineering. For more details about how to become textile engineering in India, you may go through this article to see all the courses, colleges, admission process, career options etc related to this field of your choice.

COURSES IN TEXTILE ENGINEERING

COURSE DETAILS DURATION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ADMISSION PROCESS FOR FURTHER STUDIES
DIPLOMA IN TEXTILE ENGINEERING 3 years and the academic program is divided into 6 semesters which lasts for a period of 6 months. Passed from a recognized board in 10+2 level in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects. Minimum marks aggregate is 50%. Some institutes also give admission to class 10 students who have passed. Depends on the institutes, as some may follow a direct admission process. Some also follow merit based admission procedure (marks scored in board exam/ an entrance exam) is taken into consideration

For all Diploma holders, using the lateral entry one can secure admission in the second academic year of B.E./B.Tech. Textile Engineering program.

B.E./B.TECH. IN TEXTILE ENGINEERING 4 years and the academic program is divided into 8 semesters which lasts for a period of 6 months. Passed from a recognized board in 10+2 level in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects. Minimum marks aggregate is 50%..

Most institutes follow merit based admission. Marks scored by a student in a board exam or entrance exam (JEE, institute- wise, State-wise etc) is taken into consideration.
