JEE Main Exam Pattern for 2020

JEE Mains 2020 will be the nation’s most awaited entrance examination as more than 15 lac students will be testing their skills and practice against what is considered to be one of the most difficult entrance exams in the country. The exam is held every year by the National Testing Agency, NTA. Students compete in this exam to get admission in either engineering or architecture colleges, and all the most reputed colleges in India select students on the basis of their rank in the exam.

In 2020, the exam is estimated to be just as challenging if not more for all the students who have been trying their luck and preparing hard for the exam since their entrance in Class 11. While most students prefer to take coaching since learning from people who have already cleared the exam gives them an experience boost, some decide to tread the road less taken. If you are one of these students, chances are high that you haven’t had a chance to correctly study and understand the pattern. This can cause you to be at a disadvantage when compared with other students who have studied the paper pattern and gotten familiar with it. To help you in this, here is the paper pattern for JEE 2020.

Paper 1 – B.Tech./B.E.

The first paper is for admission in engineering colleges in the courses B.Tech. or B.E. The subjects involved in this paper are – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. All three follow the syllabus set by CBSE for Classes 11 and 12.

Each subject will have its own section, with each section having 25 questions. Out of these, 20 questions will be MCQ type questions, while the remaining 5 will be integer type questions. You will have a total of 3 hours to clear the examination. Students with 40% or more disability will be given 4 hours.

Paper 2 – B.Arch.

The key difference in 2020’s JEE Main examination is that there will be separate papers for architecture and planning. In the Paper of B.Arch., there will be three sections – Mathematics with 25 questions, Aptitude with 50 questions, and Drawing with 2 questions. The time limit is the same as Paper 1.

Paper 2 – B.Planning.

The third kind of JEE exam – B.Planning. is very similar in pattern to B.Arch., except there will be 25 questions related to planning instead of 2 questions of drawing.
We hope reading this helps you in understanding the pattern for JEE Main 2020.
