As an international student, the first step of the journey will be choosing the right university for the desired course. Studying abroad can make a difference in one’s career, as it will add a new education system with lots of experience under the guidance of global-level professors. Several internship programs, and becoming familiar with professionalism, and some countries also allow one year visa to look for a job. Different scholarships programs are also available for the students by the government and universities.
If you have multiple interests you can also apply for the double majors at the same university. It will save your time and your extra expenses of living. Many universities in the US accept applications online on their respective portals.

University has a separate admission department for international students. To apply to this institution students must have completed their school/graduation and should have a certificate. English proficiency is mandatory in the university (score of IELTS, TOEFL, DET). Other than this, financial documents and visa details are also required.
Harvard University
It has given excellence in teaching, learning, and research for all these years. It is one of the largest residential research universities offering more than 50 majors, 134 undergraduate courses, and 32 professional courses. In terms of research, Harvard is a founding member of the Association of American Universities and offers doctorate programs in arts, science, engineering, medicines, etc. It has always been in the top 10 global and national rankings by Forbes, Times Higher education, etc.
Stanford University
It is one of the deemed universities offering more than 200 fields of study and opportunities to learn under 2288 faculty members. Almost 7000 students attend Stanford and complete their undergraduate courses which make a huge difference in their lives. It has 7 schools, different departments, interdisciplinary units, health care, scholarships programs, and online learning programs too. Stanford requires at least 3-4years of a degree from a recognized board all over the world with complete travel documentation.
Yale University
It is the third oldest institute in the United States. International students are an integral part of Yale University.
All applicants are required to submit at least one of these and the application fee is around 80 dollars.

Massachusetts Institute of technology
MIT is a private research university established in 1861 and has always been a part of history in the innovative field of science, technology, etc. It has adopted the European polytechnic university format of education.
International students need to prove their minimum competence in the respective fields they are applying for. Students have to submit their SAT/ACT score with an English proficiency scorecard. University has also arranged to share the expense burden of the students by designing several scholarships programs for them.
Princeton University
It is the fourth-oldest college in the state. It offers graduate programs in arts and humanities, social sciences, natural science, engineering, and other post-graduate programs. Graduated students are allowed to join interdisciplinary units and joint degrees are also available for several disciplines.
Princeton openly welcomes students from all over the world with basic regulations:
- Students must be vaccinated (the latest covid norms will be followed by the University).
- Students must submit their transcript (academic report).
- Graded written papers need to be submitted.
- An English proficiency test scorecard is necessary.
- The latest school records need to be submitted.
Columbia University
It has been awarded 2nd rank in the United States by US News and World Report. University receives more than 60,000 applicants from all over the world, from which 2000 approx students were admitted. Scholarships are given to students under the admission committee on the basis of merit, personal achievements, academics, dynamism, intellectual thinking, and varied experiences.
Some basic requirements for the international applicants:
- Academic transcripts from your bachelor’s/ school studies.
- Test scores (GRE/GMAT/TOEFL, IELTS, iTEP, PTE Academics).
- Statement of purpose.
- Research proposals.
- Recommendations from professors/ college.
- Copy of valid passport.
- Proof of finances (unless you have already applied for particular scholarship schemes), you need to show funding to cover all your expenses for the duration of your stay.
