With the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the result of Class 12th Board Examination in record time. The Exams of Call 12th finished in first week of April and the results are announced within 28 days of the last exam.
Around thirteen lakh students took the exam all over the country. Out of these 83.4% is the total pass percentage of the country, highest being from Thiruvananthapuram with 98.2% followed by Chennai and Delhi. As has been seen last year also, the girls outshone the boys by 9%. Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools had the highest pass percentage of 98.54% and the lowest was of the private schools at 82.59%.
The top rank was shared by Hansika Shukla of Gaziabad and Karishma Arora of Muzaffarnagar with 499 marks out of 500. The second position was shared by three students viz. Gaurangi Chawala of Rishikesh, Bhavya of Jind and Aishwarya of Raebareli with 498 out of 500 marks. As many as 18 students bagged the third position with 497 marks out of 500. Lavanya Balakrishnan from Gurugram stood first in the children with special needs category scoring 489 marks out of 500.
