As the Coronavirus continues to stay with us and the New strain comes into the picture the worries of students and their parents shoot up. Finally on the New Years Eve the Education Minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal putting an end to worries and indicating the students to gear, came up with the timeline for the 2021 Board exams though a little delayed this time the exams will take place as always.
The minister announced that the exams will be conducted in the offline mode just like all the previous years obviously with more precautions and social distancing norms in place. He announced that the exams will be conducted between 4th May and June 10. The results will be announced by 15th July. Meanwhile the practical exams are expected to start from 1st Week of March within the school premises. If the situations worsen and are not suitable for students to visit schools for practicals an alternative is being simultaneously worked upon. Regarding the pre-board, they will be conducted as per the schools discretion be it offline or online.
The minister did not stop here and continued to mention that students will see a new format this year. There will be more of the indirect and application based questions in the form of case studies rather than straightforward questions. The revised sample paper as per the new pattern has been uploaded on the cbse website. Earlier the board had cut 30% syllabus to relax students in these uncertain times and specially those who belong to the economically weaker sections.
A detailed date sheet and further guidelines relating to the board exams are expected to be announced later this month.
