First Online viva was conducted by Mumbai University for engineering students
Rupali Patil is a student of electronics and telecommunication engineering was the first Mumbai University student to be conferred the doctorate degree in an online open defence viva during the lockdown on Wednesday, which disrupted the teaching-learning process in the city. Patil is very happy that now she will be addressed as Dr Rupali Patil. She defended her PhD thesis before the external examiners from IIT-Bombay and Jondhale College of Engineering through online method.
The University followed all the UGC guidelines while planning the online viva. It has now vivas for eight subjects in science and technology. For four subjects in anthropology in the next few days are going to be conducted by the same process.
