A rumour is being circulated which claims that the medical entrance exam, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2020, has been postponed further and will be held in August. But it is fake news. It could have been malciously spread by some group of demanding students who are asking to postpone the exam due to the increasing cases of coronavirus.
The HRD Minister has addressed the concerns of the students and stated that in extreme conditions the ministry might take few appropriate steps. The students have taken the social media platform to raise the demands.
There are a total of 15,93,452 lakh candidates who have applied for the NEET 2020. In 2019, the number was 15 lakh. As per the latest news, the NEET 2020 exam will be conducted on July 26, following the social distancing norms. But the students who have applied for the exams are requesting the minister that the exam should be postponed as the epidemic of Covid-19 is still not in control. Many students who are residing in the containment zones are raising the demands to postpone the exam. Earlier the exam was going to be held on May 3, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
