No TOEFL, IELTS Required For Doctors, Nurses To Practice In UK

No TOEFL, IELTS required for doctors, nurses, dentists and midwives who want to practice in the UK as the country will now accept scores of Occupational English Test (OET). Above change will apply to all Tier 2 (General) visa applications submitted from October 1.

Occupational English Test (OET) is the test which the candidates have to clear for registering with the relevant healthcare regulator. OET assesses the language communication skills of professionals, who want to register and practise in an English-speaking environment. OET is conducted by Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment (CBLA), a venture between  Cambridge Assessment English and Box Hill Institute.
