The ‘New Normal’ and ‘Fused Learning'

Amidst the harsh challenges imposed by the pandemic, the question still arises whether the topsy-turvy situations shall return to normalcy with the earlier traditional mode of learning. After issuing the Unlock 5 guidelines on the 30 September, a decision on the reopening of schools was brought into notice in the non-containment zones.

But with the increasing cases of the virus, a decision on “Blended learning” has been brought into notice which is a fusion of the traditional face to face learning and the existing technological online medium, where students would be able to access both the facilities, ensuring by maintaining the proper protocols while visiting their educational institutions.

Ramesh Pokhriyal, Union Minister of Education adds to the new blended learning as the future of education. Adding to this, he said that “Despite advancing towards e-learning mode, the traditional way of teaching can’t be compromised.”

With this huge paradigm shift, new strategies are been implicated to make this decision of blended learning more captivating and relevant. A new initiative on the PM- e vidya unifies all effort relating to digital, online, on- air education committing to ensure equity for all at all levels of education in all geographical areas. This newly ensured platform would infuse and benefit nearly 25 crore school-going children across the country.

The main fusion of this blended learning should have a beneficial outcome to all students finding new interpretations in India’s higher education system. Thus colleges in India are going to be a seat of learning in a very different way.
