Sher - I - Kashmir Institute Of Medical Sciences, Srinagar is a Government institution. It is governed by MCI. More than 26 courses are taught in this institution.

Under the Medicine and Health Sciences, there are a total of 26 courses. For Under Graduate studies, MBBS is the only course taught. Under the Post Graduate studies, 14 courses are taught which are MD (Ophthalmology), MD (Social and Preventive Medicine / Community Medicine), MD (Radio Diagnosis / Radiology), MD (Anaesthesiology) and many more. The Doctoral category has 9 courses which are M.Ch. (Neuro Surgery), M.Ch. (Paediatric Surgery), M.Ch. (Plastic Surgery), M.Ch.
