Eligibility
BE / B Tech or equivalent degree or M.Sc or equivalent degree in any branch of Science (with Mathematics as a subject at the Bachelor's level).

More Information
The M.Tech program is a two-year course based program designed to prepare students to address complex industrial and technological problems through an advanced knowledge of various chemical engineering subjects. A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field is necessary to enter the program. Selection is based on the score obtained in the GATE Chemical Engineering Paper. The program consists of 32 credits of course work and 32 credits of project work. Of the course credits, 21 credits are from compulsory core courses and the remaining from electives.

More Information
The Master of Technology (Res) program is a research based program designed to prepare students for advanced chemical engineering practice through research, development, production, design and/or management. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a master's degree in sciences with mathematics as a subject at the bachelors level (at least) is required to enter the program. Each student selects a research advisor and plans a program of course work and thesis research. A minimum of 12 credit hours of graduate course work is required. Students are required to take either CH 201 or CH 202. All students are required to take CH 206. Students are required to take two of the following three core courses: CH 203, CH 204 and CH 205. Independent research work is assessed through a general test midway into the program and a final defense of the thesis.

Applicants with a master's degree in engineering In the PhD program, each student selects a research advisor and plans a program of course work and thesis research. Students are required to take either CH 201 or CH 202. All students are required to take CH 206. Students are required to take one of the following three core courses: CH 203, CH 204 and CH 205. Independent research work is assessed by a comprehensive examination midway in the program, evaluation every year and a defense of the thesis at the end. Applicants with a bachelor's degree in engineering Each student selects a research advisor and plans a program of course work and thesis research. A minimum of 24 credit hours of graduate course work is required. Students are required to take either CH 201 or CH 202. All students are required to take CH 206. Students are required to take two of the following three core courses: CH 203, CH 204 and CH 205. Independent research work is assessed through a comprehensive examination midway in the program and a final defense of the thesis.
