CUSAT CAT 2024 Exam - Dates, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern
Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test 2024 or CUSAT CAT 2024 is the entrance examination for admission to M.Sc. (Integrated), MCA, MCA (Lateral Entry), M.A. (Applied Economics), M.A. (Hindi literature) and other courses. CUSAT CAT 2024 is conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerela.
CUSAT CAT for the year 2024 has been announced by Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerela and will be held from 10/05/2024 to 12/05/2024. The application forms will be available from 27/01/2024 till 20/03/2024. The exam is in online mode. The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes. It is being conducted in English language. Admit card will be available from 29/04/2024. The result date will be announced later.

CUSAT CAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
B.Tech | - Pass in Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examination
accepted as equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as
optional subjects securing a separate minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and
50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
- Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe
(KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.

B.Tech. Lateral Entry | - Any three year Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by a Board of
Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education,
Government of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks. The maximum age
prescribed is 25 years as on 1st July of the current academic year.
- Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled
Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination

B.Voc. | - Students with a total of 65% mark or equivalent CGPA in Plus Two or any equivalent
examination conducted by recognised Boards with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the Subjects.
- Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe
(KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
- SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer
are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination.

M.Sc. (Integrated) | - Pass in Plus Two examination of the State of Kerala with Mathematics, Physics
and Chemistry as optional subject or any other examination accepted as
equivalent thereto securing a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50%
marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together

BBA.LLB/ B.Com.LLB | - At the time of admission the candidate should have passed plus two examination with
at least 60% marks including languages in Science group/Commerce group or with at least 55% marks including languages in Arts/Humanities stream.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities or belonging to SEBC communities with a
pass in the plus two examination with 50% percent marks are entitled to seek admission.

LL.B. | - The candidate shall have a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate of the qualifying
degree examination. - Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are eligible for 5%
relaxation in qualifying marks

LL.M. | - Pass in Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 55% marks from any University of Kerala or an
examination of any other University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto.

MCA | - Any Science graduate with Mathematics as one of the subjects or graduate in
Electronics / Information Technology/Computer Science / Computer Applications/ Engineering Technology with aggregate 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

MCA (Lateral Entry) | - Recognized regular Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / Information
Technology / Computer Applications / Computer Science and Engineering of minimum three year duration with aggregate 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

M.A. | - Bachelor’s degree in Economics with 55% marks in part III (Economics and
Subsidiaries) or 60% marks with B.Com, BBA, BBM with Economics as one of the subjects or B.Sc. Mathematics or Statistics with 65% marks.

M.Sc. | - B.Sc. degree with
Mathematics main with at least 55% marks for
optional subjects taken together

Master of Fisheries Science | - Bachelor’s degree in
Fisheries / Food Technology / Food Science / Food Microbiology /Biochemistry/ Zoology with at least 55% marks in the optional subjects. Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries includes Industrial Fisheries / Aquaculture / Fishery Science /Industrial Fish and Fisheries / B.F.Sc. (Nautical Science). Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology / Food Science includes B.Tech / B.E. / B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology / Food Science and Management /Food Science / Food Technology /Food processing Technology / Food Science and Quality Control.

Examination Day Instructions
Before entering the Exam Centre:
- Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card.
- Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
- Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
- If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
- Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
- Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
- Usually no bags are allowed.
- No eatables are allowed.
- No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager/ wireless set, scanner, camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.
- Handbag / Carry bag/ Mobile phone / calculator /watch/any other electronic gadget or any paper (other than the Admit Card) shall not be allowed inside the Test Hall/Room and the University shall not be responsible for its safekeeping. If a candidate is found in possession of any such item during the Test, he/she would be deemed to have used unfair means and may lead to cancellation of his/her candidature.
After entering the centre:
- Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat.
- If mentioned, candidates will be hand frisked as well as photographed or video graphed before entering the centre
- After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
- For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
- Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
- Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
- The candidates are to return their OMR answer-sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
- Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
- Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet/cancellation of the candidature.
- Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.
