NCHM JEE 2021 Exam - Dates, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Exam 2021 or NCHM JEE 2021 is the entrance examination for admission to B.Sc. (Hotel and Hospitality Administration). NCHM JEE 2021 is conducted by National Testing Agency.

NCHM JEE for the year 2021 has been announced by National Testing Agency and will be held on 10/08/2021. The application forms will be available from 03/02/2021 till 05/07/2021. The exam is in online mode. The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes. It is being conducted in English and Hindi languages. Admit card will be available from 02/08/2021. Result is expected to be announced on 10/09/2021.

Educational Qualifications:

  • The Minimum Academic Qualifications for NCHM JEE 2021 required are that students should have passed 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects, from a recognized Educational Board. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination.
  • Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in NCHM JEE 2021 on provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling or at the time of admission or latest by 30.09.2021.
  • The offer of admission is subject to verification of original certificates / documents, including category certificate and PwD certificate (wherever applicable) at the time of admission. If any candidate is found ineligible at a later date even after admission to an Institute, due to the inability to produce geniune certificate in original in support of passing 10+2 or equivalent examination and fulfillment of age criteria and category certificate or PwD certificate (wherever applicable), his/her admission will stand cancelled. 

Age Limit :

  • For candidates from General, General (EWS) and OBC categories, upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2021. Candidates born on or after July 01, 1996 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates and Physically challenged candidates, upper age limit is 28 years as on 01.07.2021. That is SC/ST and Physicallly challenged candidates born on or after July 01, 1993 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/Pre-University Certificate shall be the authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counseling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for Counselling/admission.

Physical fitness

  • All qualified candidates will have to submit a Physical fitness certificate of carrying out practical claims as required in course at the.

Number of Attempts

  • There are no restrictions on the number of attempts for the NCHM JEE 2021

    General Instructions for filling up the Application Form

    Students applying for the NCHM JEE 2021 have to fill up the application form on the official site. 

    A student can submit the application for only once; multiple forms will be rejected. 

    The submission is ONLINE

    Requirements to be readied before you start filling up the Application Form of NCHM JEE 2021

    • PC or a Laptop with Internet connectivity 
    • Qualification details
    • Scanned copy of passport photograph in JPG or JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb) Scanned copy of signature in JPG or JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb)   PwD Certificate (file size 50 kb-300 kb).
    • Functional e-mail Id as all communication are made through email; Parents email id is recommended.
    • Mobile number as all information is sent through SMS too. Parents phone numbers can be used.
    • For online payments, usually a valid debit or credit card as well as Net Banking facility, UPI or PAYTM Service is a must.
    • Printer is required for keeping hard copies; if there is no printer, one can save the printouts, transfer them on to a pen drive and get it printed from a cyber cafe.
    • It is recommended to download the information Bulletin Brochure and read it carefully so that you understand various requirements to fill-up the form.
    • Candidates are not allowed to make any correction at a later stage after submission of an application. No correction is entertained via post, fax, email, or by hand.

    The Usual Steps in filling up the Online Application Form: 

    Step-1: Students have to register for Online Application Form. A login and Password are created. 

    Step-2: Student has to Complete the Application Form and its various sections. 

    Step-3: Required documents in the form of Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph, Candidate’s Signature and Left Thumb Impression. 

    Step-4: Payments have to be made by Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI / PAYTM

    Preparation for the Exam Day
    • The Admit card should be downloaded and printed Immediately.
    • A few copies of the Admit Card should be kept in reserve as these are also used at the time of admission and counselling.
    • Photo to be fixed on the admit card, if required
    • Documents to be taken to the Exam centre should be kept ready.
    • Copy of the photo may be required to be taken to the Test Centre.
    • Stationary related articles as mentioned should be kept ready.
    • Dress related details will also be provided in the prospectus as well as with the admit card and should be followed.
    • Items not to be taken to the Exam centre or barred should be noted.
    Before entering the Exam Centre
    • Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card. 
    • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
    • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
    • If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
    • Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
    • Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
    • Usually, no bags are allowed.
    • No eatables are allowed.
    • No communication equipment such as mobile phones/pager / wireless set/scanner/camera or any such electronic/digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.

    After entering the centre

    • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat. 
    • If mentioned, candidates will be hand frisked as well as photographed or video graphed before entering the centre
    • After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
    • No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the expiry of half of the time allotted for the respective paper.
    • For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
    • Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
    • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
    • The candidates are to return their OMR answer-sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
    • Smoking is not allowed.
    • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
    • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet/cancellation of the candidature.
    • Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.

    After the NCHM JEE-2020 examination, the NTA will display answer keys & recorded responses  of multiple-choice questions on the NTA’s website nchmjee.nta.nic.in The details of the date shall be displayed on the NTA’s website. The candidates, who are not satisfied with the answer keys and recorded responses, may challenge by filling online application form and paying a processing charge of Rs.200/- per question. The processing charge can be paid by credit/debit card/net banking. The processing charge once paid is non-refundable. The NTA’s decision on the challenges shall be final and no further communication will be entertained. 


    The result will be compiled based on Final Answer Keys and announced through the Website only in due course. No grievance with regard to Answer Key(s) after declaration of Result of NCHM JEE-2021 will be entertained. The raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered further for computation of the Result of NCHM JEE-2021. The candidates download their Score Cards from the website only. 

    There shall be no provision for re-valuation/re-checking of the Score. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained. 

    The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an Examination conducting body and will provide NCHM JEE Score 2021. The NTA does not collect the information regarding total number of seats available in the Institutions and reservation criteria followed by the Institutions.


    All India merit list of candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the NCHM-JEE Computer Based Test (CBT). In case candidates secure equal marks, the merit will be determined as under.

    • Candidate securing higher marks in English component of NCHM JEE shall rank higher, 
    • In case of candidates securing equal marks in NCHM-JEE, as well as in English component of NCHM-JEE, then the candidate securing higher marks in Service Aptitude Component of NCHM-JEE shall rank higher, 
    • In case of tie in (i) and (ii) above, the candidate older in age shall rank higher.
