The Questions for the test shall be based on a Common Syllabus as notified in the Prospectus or Information Brochure of PAU MET CSE 2021 exam as set by the Governing body.
- Computer Fundamentals and Programming: Computer fundamentals, number systems, representation of integers, fixed and floating point numbers, character representation, Logic Gates and circuits. Functional units of computer, I/O devices, primary and secondary memories. Programming fundamentals with C/C++, loops, etc.
- Operating System: Operating system overview, Operating system architecture. Process, process model, process scheduling, operations on process, inter process communication. Process synchronization, critical section problem, producer consumer problem, bounded buffer problem, CPU scheduling, long term schedulers, middle term schedulers, short term schedulers, basic concepts, scheduling criteria, scheduling algorithms, first come first serve, shortest job first, priority scheduling, round robin, multilevel queue, multilevel feedback, deadlocks, system model,race condition, deadlock prevention, deadlock avoidance, deadlock detection.
- Data Structures and Algorithms: Programming design and development. Algorithms, programming constructs algorithm complexity, big O notation, and concept of recursion. Arrays and matrices, stack, stack insertion and deletion, queue, circular queues, priority queues, link list, Representation and processing of linear linked lists, bubble sort, selection sort, insertion sort, radix sort, merge sort algorithm, quick sort, heap sort, shell sort.
- Data Base Management System: Overview of DBMS, basic DBMS terminology, advantages and disadvantages of DBMS, file approach and its limitations, DBMS approach, advantages of DBMS, DBMS components. Design, logical and physical data independence, three level architecture of DBMS, entities and types of entities, relationships, entity relationship model. Data models, relational model, network model, hierarchical model, comparison of data models. Relational model, Functional relational query language, SQL commands. PL/SQL, variables, control structures,decisions and loops, functions and procedures, cursors and triggers.
- Internet and Web Technologies: Fundamentals of networking, overview of network topologies, classifications of networks. Advantages and disadvantages of internet, electronic mail, Introduction to HTML/DHTML Java script introduction, variables, control statements, JavaScript arrays, methods, client side validations, embedding JavaScript, future of JavaScript. Server side scripting.

Examination Day Instructions:
- All Entrance Examinations will start at 10:00 A.M. on prescribed dates. The candidates must reach Centre of Examination at 9:00 A.M. sharp. No entry after 10.15 A.M. under any circumstance will be allowed
- Frisking of the candidates can be done at the Centre
- Disabled candidates shall be granted extra time @ 20 minutes per hour in entrance tests as per rules.
They will have to attach a request while applying for entrance test along with disability certificate issued by the competent authority
Before entering the Exam Centre
- Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card.
- Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
- Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
- If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
- Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
- Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
- Usually no bags are allowed.
- No eatables are allowed.
- No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager/ wireless set, scanner, camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.
After entering the centre
- Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat.
- If mentioned, candidates will be hand frisked as well as photographed or video graphed before entering the centre
- After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
- For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
- Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
- Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
- The candidates are to return their OMR answer-sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
- Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
- Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet/cancellation of the candidature.
- Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.

PAU MET CSE 2021 Admission Procedure
- Information about the mode and schedule of counseling will be put up at the PAU website along with
the entrance test results.
- Every student is required to follow the counseling instructions appearing on the PAU website and participate in the counseling as per instructions. No separate intimation will be given to the candidate regarding the counselling. The University will not be responsible for any loss of opportunity for admission to the candidate by not participating in the counseling.
- For Master’s and Ph.D. programs, only the candidate, who obtain 20% marks in the entrance test,
will be eligible for counselling. Further, Ph.D, candidates are also required to obtain 20% marks in MCQ & Subjective test, individually, for becoming eligible for counseling/interview.
- At the time of Counselling/document verification the candidate is required to deposit the full fee in
cash to confirm the seat. Failing to deposit the full fee the allotment will be cancelled and the seat will be declared vacant.
