VMOU RET M.Phil. 2020 Eligibility Criteria
The minimum Academic Qualifications for admission to the M.Phil. programme are Masters
degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Masters degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7 - point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of
grade, for those belonging to SC / ST and OBC (non - creamy layer) / Differently - Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of
the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.

The syllabus
of VMOU RET M.Phil. 2020 consist of 50% of Research methodology (Research, Language, Computer application and logical reasoning) and 50% shall be subject specific. The successful candidates in the VMOU RET M.Phil. 2020 shall be called for interview. An interview / viva - voce (30 Marks) will be organized when the candidates are required to discuss their research interest or area through a PPT. The merit shall be prepared for final admission on the basis of written test and interview both. If Interview Committee feels that candidates research competence is not up to the mark, then seat may be declared as Not Found Suitable.
The interview / viva voce consists of the following aspects:
- the candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research;
- the research work can be suitably undertaken at the Institution / College;
- the proposed area of research can contribute to new / additional
knowledge.

Examination Day Instructions
Before entering the Exam Centre
- Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card.
- Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
- Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
- Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card with ID Proof at the Test Centre.
- Usually no bags are allowed.
- No eatables are allowed.
- No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager / wireless set / scanner / camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.
After Entering the centre
- In no case, a candidate is allowed to enter the examination hall after the exam starts.
- No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall till the completion of the Examination.
- Candidates are not allowed to talk to each other during the examination.
- Smoking is not allowed.
- Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.

- The aggregate qualifying marks in written examination for all candidates will be
50%.
- In case of tie in any subject, it
will be resolved by comparing the Post Graduation marks. If the tie is not resolved then further the marks obtained by the candidates in Under Grdauation will be compared to obtain the final merit.
