Eligibility: A pass in the Higher Secondary (+2) Examination ( Academic Stream) conducted by the H.P. Board of School Education or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the various bodies of the H.P. University. Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with arts/humanities stream shall be given preference in admission to the B.A. programme. Age Limit: For first admission to the First Semester of the Degree Course, the maximum age limit is 23 years on the first of July of the Year concerned. In case of SC/ST candidates, a relaxation of three years is allowed. The Vice Chancellor, HPU, Shimla, may, in exceptional cases/Circumstances, to be recorded in writing, give relaxation in age up to a maximum of six months to other candidates also. All such cases may be provisionally granted age relaxation up to six months by the Principal of the college and a consolidated list of all such cases will be sent for approval of the Vice Chancellor by the 31st October of every academic year. i) A student desirous of seeking admission to the first year of the degree course will approach the ACADEMIC COMMITTEE of the college after procuring the Prospectus-cum-Handbook of Information from the College. DO NOT FILL UP THE ADMISSION FORM BEFORE CONSULTING THE ACADEMIC COMMITTEE.

ii) The ACADEMIC COMMITTEE will guide the students about the different courses and subject combinations including compulsory courses, core courses , elective courses and hobby courses, if any, available with the college. The committee will also guide them about the possible subject combinations they can opt for. 

iii) The college may discontinue a course of study if adequate number of students is not available in a particular course. 

iv) A student admitted to the college under CBCS will have to abide by all the rules and regulations of the college as stipulated in the college prospectus.
