Admission for Aircraft Maintenance, Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering in India: AME CET Entrance Exam Details
Plenty of students are interested in anything related to aircraft and thus want to study for career related to airframes, jet engines, electrical, designing and electronic systems, Designing and maintenance of aircraft is a huge task requiring manpower and expertise.
Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering is that branch of engineering which deals in all related to design and manufacturing field of aircraft, aero engines, rocket propulsion and other systems related to defence aviation or civil aviation.
Flight Safety in aviation is another important field in which there is a need of skilled manpower in knowhow with better technical & maintenance skills. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are responsible for maintenance of aircrafts and finally certifying the aircraft airworthy for operational flying. This is a very specialized field.
Thus students seeking to joining the above mentioned fields need to apply and take the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test (AME CET). This exam is a national level common entrance exam for admission for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course as well as Aerospace Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering Courses. These courses are available in approved Institutes by approved government bodies in India.
AME CET is conducted by Udai Aviation Private Limited, an independent organisation working under the companies Act. It is pioneer in India for conducting common entrance exams for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course for Institutes that are duly approved from Directorate General Of Civil Aviation under Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India.
AME Course Details
- On offer is an internationally licensed based program.
- The trained students from licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in India are authorized to work internationally.
- Basically two types of courses are on offer:
- 1-year academic program and further practical training from DGCA approved organisations for one year.
- 2 years academic program and subsequently 2 of years practical training by DGCA, Government of India.

AME CET Eligibility Criteria
- Must have either passed 10+2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics
- 3 years engineering diploma with any stream or equivalent from any recognised University
- Higher qualification in science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
- Must be between 16 to 28 years at the time of admission.
- Attempts allowed at AME CET are limited to three.
