The NID Design aptitude test (NID-DAT) is a two-stage national-level entrance test conducted annually by the NID admission cell for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design )
The common entrance examination for design is a joint entrance exam usually popular for graduate and post-graduate courses in design and technical design courses. It is held annually at the Indian Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of science. This exam is hosted by the Industrial Design Centre, Indian institute of technology, Bombay (on behalf of the ministry of human resources development under the government of India). It is a descriptive pattern course, including topics like a student's logical approach, creativity, drawing skills, and observation skills.

Exam pattern
- It consists of parts A and part B.
- Part A is a preliminary test, having 50 questions of general knowledge and awareness. Each correct answer carries two marks, and each negative response takes a deduction of half mark.
- The candidates qualifying part A exam will be eligible for the Part B exam. This part will include analysing drawing and creative skills.
- The candidates qualifying for part A and part B will be eligible to appear in the Personal interview rounds.
