Young intellects that are attracted to the domain of medical science and wish to take up the careers of doctors in different specialization must appear for the NEET exams (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Initially, the Central Board of Secondary Education conducted the exam but since 2019 the NEET has been conducted by NTA. The NEET exams 2020 will be conducted by the NTA.
Pattern For NEET Exams – The NEET is a national level examination where the exam continues for a total period of three hours and is given in pen and paper (not online). The total exam marks are 720 and the candidate must answer 180 MCQs. The NEET Exam Syllabus covers physics, chemistry, zoology and botany, and the paper comprises 45 questions from each of the sections. The element of negative marking is also present. Four marks are awarded for every correct answer and a single mark is deducted for every wrong question.
Language Of The Paper – The paper is available in different language options such as Bengali, Hindi, English, Tamil, Kannada, Telegu, Assamese, Gujarati and Oriya. Options once made cannot be changed at a later stage. You need to mention the choice in the form.
Eligibility Criteria – The candidate must score 50% in 10+2 exam. Students from the open school can also appear for the NEET Test. The minimum age of a candidate appearing for NEET exams must be 17 and the maximum cut off age limit is 25. Candidates from reserved sections of the society can enjoy an age relaxation of five years.
