CLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

There are some restrictions which may end up seeing your application being rejected if you are not able to make the ends meet. However feeble the criteria is it is always advised to the candidates to make sure that they meet it before they proceed towards the application process and don’t end up wasting a long amount time which is needed to fill the application form along with the money which is needed to fill the application form. The announcements and the past experience also guarantee that the application fee will not be reimbursed in any way or form by NLU

It is common knowledge that the CLAT exam is the standard for both UG and PG admissions in the NLUs and many other universities that provide a degree in law. Obviously both kind of candidates will have to follow different kinds of guidelines so we will discuss the under graduate application guidelines first which will be followed by the post graduate application guidelines.

The following are the guidelines that any candidate hoping to get admitted in any undergraduate law program should follow: -

·         There is no upper age limit for the undergraduate.

·         The candidates should qualify 12th standard from any recognised board this makes sure that there is a minimum age of 16 years for the candidates.

·         All unreserved / OBC / SAP candidates should have 45% marks in their qualifying examinations, this number falls to a 40% for SC and ST candidates.

·         Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination can also give the CLAT exam but need to produce the proof of results during the admission procedure.

The following are the guidelines that any candidate hoping to get admitted in any post graduate law program should follow: -

·         Just like UG there is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination

·         The candidates should have an LL.B. or and equivalent degree and must pass all the qualifying exams.

·         All unreserved / OBC / SAP candidates should have 55% marks in their qualifying examinations, this number falls to a 50% for SC and ST candidates.

·         The candidate must have passed his final semester before the commencement of the admission procedure.
