Entrepreneurship and Sports: A Strategy for Social Transformation

Sports play a significant role in transforming communities, civilizations, and nations. While entrepreneurship is the capability and willingness to evolve, manage and operate a business enterprise, along with any of its uncertainties, to create a profit. The most common example of entrepreneurship is the initiation of new businesses.

The connection between sport and entrepreneurship is an emerging domain with a continuously growing research field, particularly in recent years. Thus it is a highly essential topic regarding its positive impact on public health, economic evolution, social inclusion, and the promotion of intercultural dialogue.

Here is some aspect of the systematic literature review on entrepreneurship and sport to implement social change.

The tripartite model for studying entrepreneurship in sport is considered one of the first theoretical contributions proposed by Hardy. Here the sports product, the part played by the entrepreneurs and leaders when the product is in the development phase, and the types of associations formed are considered the essential components of sports entrepreneurship.

The model suggested by Schumpeter is also well adapted as the skills like risk-taking, proactivity, innovation, and the goal of profits see a broad accord in sports.

The survey and methodology used to get the primary outcomes are:

Materials and Methods

The main objective is to contribute to the systematization of scientific presentations on the relationship between entrepreneurship & sport.

Bibliometric Analysis

Herein the cluster analysis, i.e. keywords map, was carried out to analyze the areas of most significant interest in the scientific terrain. The main clusters were;

Cluster 1-linked to sports entrepreneurship.

Cluster 2 -related to sports marketing and education.

Cluster 3- connected with the area of social entrepreneurship.

Cluster 4-related to entrepreneurship and sports research.

Cluster 5-related to social economy and sports development.

Cluster 6- associated with the keywords modification and stakeholders.

The analysis deduces that, in the early 2000s, sport entrepreneurship was explored only as a component that enjoyed more significant importance. However, in current years, sport entrepreneurship as a self-sustaining research subject is obtaining growing attention from the scientific society.

Sport has a primarily social mission because it proposes advantages in health and wellbeing, social evolution, and citizen wealth and provides promising career opportunities when the idea of social entrepreneurship was familiarised in sports entrepreneurship.
