Law School Admission Test 2024
Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a standardized test to assess one’s aptitude for studying Law. LSAT 2024 is an integral part of the admission process for law schools in the United States, Canada and some other countries abroad.
Pearson VUE conducts LSAT India on behalf of Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for admissions to the undergraduate law programs including BA LLB, B.Sc LLB and B.Com LLB. The law entrance exam is designed in a way to test the reading and verbal reasoning skills of the candidates. Pearson VUE has the world’s latest state-of-the-art technology that enables them to reliably develop, deliver and conduct exams for various universities and exam conducting bodies in the world.
The Law School Admission Council is a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting quality, access, and equity in law and education worldwide by supporting individuals’ enrollment journeys and providing preeminent assessment, data, and technology services.
2023 will mark the 12th anniversary of the Law School Admission Council offering the LSAT—India, a version of the Law School Admission Test designed specifically for high school students in India who want to study law in India.
Pearson VUE conducts of LSAT entrance exam and sharing of exam scores with associate colleges. These colleges then use LSAT India scores to prepare merit list for counselling and admission purpose; each institute will consider only such candidates who have applied to that institute.
LSAT 2024 Important updates
- LSAT— India is a standardized test of reading and verbal reasoning skills designed by the USA – based Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for use by law schools in India.
- The LSAT—India is usually administered in multiple cities In the month of June each year.
- LSAT—India is a paper-and-pencil test with four sections.
- LSAT duration – 2 hours and 20 minutes
- Question type is Multiple Choice format
- Candidates can register for LSAT—India through ONLINE mode only.
- Online Registration usually starts in the month of October/November every year
Eligibility Criteria for LSAT 2024 Exam
Candidates must consult the eligibility criteria of the associated law college they intend to apply for admission based on LSAT India scores.
The general eligibility criteria required for various law programs are listed briefly here:
- 3-year LLB program: The candidate should score minimum 45% marks in the qualifying 12th exam.
- 5-year integrated law program: Minimum 45% aggregate marks in 10+2 exam
- LLM program: 45% marks in the graduate (qualifying) exam.
- Minimum marks may be different for various reserved categories.
