UPSC IES Exam 2024 - IES or Indian Engineering Service is a national level exam that is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the purpose of recruitment. The aspirants who would love to get a job in the government sector can give this exam. This exam works as the recruitment criteria for various positions an engineer can apply for the government departments. The exam has nearly two lakh candidates all over India trying to crack the exam which happens in three stages.
The three stages of the exam are Preliminary exam, Main exam and Personality test. On the basis of these exams, the candidates are recommended for the available posts in the various departments of the Union Government.

UPES IES Exam Date 2024
The IES exam dates are scheduled just along with the notification of the exam, along with the result of the previous exam. The admit card has been distributed for the Prelims 2024 and is available to be downloaded on the UPSC website. The IES Preliminary exam 2024 will be held on 18th Febrary, 2024 in some of the major cities. The examination center cities are available on the website whereas the exam center has been allotted to the candidates as per their choice. The result for the Prelims will also be declared on the UPSC website and those candidates that can crack the Prelims and are able to achieve the cut off marks required will be eligible for the Main exams.
The main exam will be held on 23 June, 2024, for which the information and the allotment of the exam center will be done along with the admit card of main exams which information will be available on the website. The IES exam will conclude after the main exam, however, the entrance criteria will be fulfilled after the interview which can be only given by the students who have cleared both the prelims and the main exam. The date for the interview will only be announced to those who have cleared both the exams.

UPSC IES Exam Syllabus 2024
The syllabus of IES exam depends on the branch of the candidate and choices filled by the candidate. The candidates that can give the IES exam should be from the following field in engineering
● Civil engineering
● Mechanical engineering
● Electrical engineering
● Electronics and telecommunication engineering.
According to the branch of the candidate, the exam room is allotted in the exam center, however, the general questions asked are from these fields. There is also a section of general knowledge which means that the candidates must be prepared with current affairs and other important knowledge as the questions from general news to depth details in current political affairs of India or outside India can come as well.
IES Cut-off and Results
The IES announces their cut-off after the main exams are being done and after the interviews have been held the results are declared where around 500 or fewer candidates out of the two lakh candidates are shortlisted and recommended for the job posts in government-owned departments. Due to the high and tough competition, the exam is said to be one of the best and hard exams with the opportunities it provides to those who can clear the exam.
