Save the Planet: Donate your books and help in recycling

Save Planet Earth - Donate your books and help in recycling

We, the children of the world are seeing things changing and fast. Technology has taken over and one can now video call on the move, send instant letters and click a photo in a jiffy. The online gateway has changed the way we live, shop, rent or buy a house, make our reservations and learn.
For the schools and colleges as well as students, imparting education has evolved into a blend of books, online reading and researching, having online discussions as well as applying for admission to courses and universities. E-reading is a game changer with e-books, e-journals, e-textbooks and e-reading materials. Distance education is a dream come true; more and more courses are being taught in the online electronic e-way.

As habitat of this planet we are also seeing more changes than we expected. Very high and low temperatures, changing weather patterns, melting of glaciers, water supplies running low as well as depleting forests. Approximately 425 million trees are cut down in a month across the world and 35 percent of the total trees cut around the world are used in paper industries on every continent. That equates to about 2.47 million trees cut down every day!

The outcomes are unfathomable! Each one of us have to do his or her bit to save the planet Earth. We just can’t leave things to be done for the neighbours or for tomorrow. Many of the efforts we can make are relatively easy. I list a few:

1. Reuse, and recycle by reducing your throw-away
2. Educate others about the need for natural resources and the concept of recycling.
3. Conserve water by using less and what is essentially required.
4. Use LED light bulbs, which are long lasting thus saving electricity and reduce green-house gas emission
5. Plant a tree, shrub, plant and teach others to do so. Trees give oxygen, food and make the air clean and help combat climate change.
6. Avoid use of chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides.
7. Participate and organize clean ups in your community.
8. Donate your books, textbooks and study notes. It helps in recycling, saves trees and reduces pollution in the air.

All the above are so doable. As a student, we spend almost one fourth of our life reading and writing and dealing with books. Every year we buy books for the next class or course. We should start utilizing old books and at the same time get into a habit of donation our textbooks as well as other books. We also prolong the life of these books we donate thus expanding their purpose and influence in a fascinating way.

Taking the opportunity to donate or recycle your books helps you save your planet. Nowadays, there are plenty of online sites which facilitate donation or sale of old books. We at mynextexam.com have provided a Used Book Corner to do so. Please become our partners for doing our bit to Save Earth, Go Green and develop a good habit to Recycle.
