Introduction

Basic Eligibility Criteria to Apply

For undergraduate courses, national or foreign national students, a high level of Japanese language proficiency is required. Some programs are offered in English. MEXT is a government scholarship test.

For the master’s or doctoral course, it is necessary to clear an entrance exam conducted by the university of Tokyo.

 Admissions

National students are required to be nominated by their home university to Tokyo university. Domestic students can also appear in the entrance examination.

A special selection procedure is followed for international students. Foreign national students must visit the official site and apply for the respective courses after selecting their major. This may be followed by screening tests along with IELTS, and TOEFL English test scores. The admissions are expected to be commenced in April and October every year.
