Three Month Preparation Strategy for JEE Advanced 2020

The country’s most advanced engineering entrance exam, which also is the only way to get admitted in an IIT, JEE Advanced is now declared to be conducted on the 23rd of August. The date of the exam was only recently declared, after declaring that the JEE Main will be conducted between July 18-23.

While the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic has extended the preparation time awarded to the students, the three remaining months are bound to be the most pressuring of all. This part of the preparation process is bound to be the most exciting as well as critical since the students who have already prepared well, will have to maintain it for the next three months, while the ones who have yet to prepare will have to push themselves harder. To help you score your finest in the upcoming exams, here are some preparation strategies that will help you.

Revision

Revision is one of the most important parts of studying as it is essential to remember that the most important thing here is the amount of information you revise. A great way to revise is to go through the syllabus in a concept-wise format that lets your brain form links in the information, and it also prevents missing anything out. You can read the NCERT books first to ensure you have all the topics ready at hand.

You can also focus more on solving questions as this will engage you more than merely reading. JEE Advanced is primarily a concept based exam and therefore it throws questions at students that challenge their conceptual knowledge of the topics instead of merely memorizing. Referring to the previous years’ question papers is also an excellent strategy.

Practice

Practicing is what will actually prepare you for the exam by putting your brain into problem-solving mode. Therefore, it is important to revise all the concepts and simultaneously solve questions relating to them. You must also keep a note of the time taken for each question and gradually increase your speed. You must also identify where you are making mistakes and work on correcting them.

Mock Test

Subscribing to a national level computer generated mock test is going to be very beneficial for you as it will put you in a similar situation as the exam. Doing several of these is going to be the best strategy to currently take up as it will also help you to identify your mistakes and create an efficient feedback loop for you. You can also work on your time management as most of the mock tests online tend to have a set time limit for submission.

Hopefully, the above tips help you to clear the exam and get into the college of your dreams.
