An academic life depends upon undertaking exams which are an important part of students’ life as it assesses the knowledge gained by them from the entire course; at this stage, students might have to deal with a lot of stress so they must focus on utilizing every minute in preparing to get the best outcomes.

Students need to complete their syllabus on time for all the critical exams and learn effective time management techniques to relieve exam pressure. Studying for long hours is not mandatory to score good marks in the exam, but when preparation is done with consistency and effective means, it becomes very easy to get good grades. Here are some tips listed below to help students in exam preparation:

Giving Enough Time to Studies: It is mandatory for students to follow a study schedule every day, and stick to it till the end of the exams. There are several students who leave everything to the last minute because then they get to thrive on partial studying which sets an adrenaline rush in them. It is advised to not leave everything for the last minute because it is not the best approach to prepare for exams. The best approach is to list down the number of topics and days left for studying and then organizing the study schedule accordingly. The preparation phase should start early to get a chance to revise the complete syllabus on time, otherwise, it becomes very difficult to finish all the topics overnight.

Creating an Organized Study Space: Students should ensure that their study desk has enough space to place the books, the room is bright enough and the chair is restful to help them study better, all the distractions should be removed so that they can focus on every single detail while studying. Therefore, it becomes mandatory for them to make the study space a friendly and pleasant environment to build up their concentration. Students should focus on organizing themselves and preparing an agenda to cover topics every day, it is very crucial to prepare an outline and give a mini-review on completion of studying a subject.

Using Visual Representations to Study: Visual representations like usage of flow charts and diagrams are very important since they help during the revision phase, as visual remembrance aids in readiness during the exam time. Students can mark all the important points and create a visual structure, like flashcards and sticky notes as the last-minute referral to recollect concepts. It is a proven fact that pictures help people learn better, so this technique can be used to prepare a portable study material needed for end-time studies.

Practicing Sample Papers and Mock Tests:
The best way to deal with exam pressure is to practice a lot of mock tests and sample papers from previous years, it helps in developing exam strategies and the state of mind to deal with the pressure. These tests help students in seeing the format of the question paper and judging what type of questions will come in the exam, and it also helps in building a time management strategy for the exam.

Explaining Answers to Others: One of the best ways to excel in exams is to explain every answer to someone from family or friends, who are always focused on the subject and they don’t easily get distracted. This technique helps a lot of students in learning concepts quickly since they develop a better understanding of the subject by explaining it to others. It is always beneficial to take help from experienced people for understanding a particular subject in better terms, and it could come in handy before it gets too late.

Organizing Study Groups with Friends:
Group studies can help the students a lot, but before forming groups they must ensure that everyone is serious about studying and their complete focus is on the subject. Studying in a group is beneficial for students to learn from their peers and when they share their knowledge, they get to develop a better understanding of the subject and tend to remember concepts forever.

Taking Intervals Regularly: Students might end up with a prolonged duration of studies, which can be tiresome. They must take regular breaks in between their study schedule to regain their focus and energy. It is a well-known fact that long-term retention of knowledge is almost impossible, so students must focus on developing a routine that fits their study style. Students need to sleep at least seven hours every day that will help them maintain their readiness during exam time. Sleep schedule is considered important because the tests are designed in such a manner that if students are sleep-deprived, they will find the paper lengthy and will not be able to justify their every answer for which they have put a lot of hard work, that should not go in vain.

Eating Healthy every day: Students need to prepare for their exams, but meanwhile studying hard they forget to keep them healthy as well. A proper diet must be followed to keep the brain and body fresh and active during the exam time. Students must eat natural, nutrient and vitamins rich food that keeps them energized throughout the study schedule and helps in building concentration and memory.

Planning for the Exam Day:
It is mandatory for students to check all the rules and regulations for the exam day, and then plan their route to reach the exam center on time. Reaching late for the exam will cause more stress and build anxiety in students, therefore they should reach on time that will allow them to adjust with the exam environment and relieve exam pressure.

Drinking Plenty of Water: It is recommended to drink water in regular time-intervals while preparing for exams because it is very important to stay hydrated to build a positive mood. Water is considered as a God gifted magical drink that relieves the body from all the toxins and helps in better functioning of the system. When students will stay hydrated, they will have enough energy to keep a cool and focused mindset to deal with exam pressure.

Dealing with Stress Efficiently: Students should focus on staying calm to deal best with exam stress, it is evident that students can forget an answer while writing, but rather than panicking they must leave some space for coming back and writing after finishing with the rest of the questions. The main problem with students is that they post evaluate their test based on one incorrect answer, rather they should choose to stay focused for preparing well for the next exam and not repeating the same mistake because they are not able to change the score anyhow.

Identifying One’s Learning Style: All individuals learn at their own pace, and it is evident that they will have different learning styles based on auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning. Students should figure out the category in which they belong to make efficient use of the time available when they adjust their study schedule with their natural learning style, they will be able to perform their best and provide the best results in less time. NEET Exam, which is conducted for MBBS admission in India needs a little extra effort as compared to some exams.

Applying Memory Techniques with Intelligence: There are some basic memory principles on which the mind works and learn things, students must focus on learning new memory techniques every time and practice to apply them in an academic context, it exercise one’s memory muscle and boosts confidence for recalling important information. There is a concept called “Multiple Intelligences” related to the human brain, the knowledge of different ways in which people can store memory helps in work and studies.

Working with Concentration and attending Classes Regularly: Students can become active learners when they attend classes regularly and listen carefully to the theory lectures taught by teachers in the classroom. Some students learn through taking an interest in interactive sessions held in class, which helps them remember things for long durations. When students study even for less time but with full dedicated concentration, they achieve knowledge more than those who studied for many hours but got distracted often.
