UCEED 2027: Exam Pattern

In total, the examination will carry 300 marks. Part A will have a duration of 2 hours. Part B will be conducted for 1 hour. Each part will carry a separate weightage within the total score.

UCEED 2027: Part A

Part A is a computer-based test. It will carry 200 marks in total. You will have to complete it within a duration of 2 hours.

There will be 57 objective questions in this part. This will be divided into three sections:

NAT: To answer these questions, you have to use a virtual keyboard to enter a numerical answer. Keep in mind that no answer options will be displayed here.
MSQ: There may be one or more correct options for these types of questions.
MCQ: In total, you will get 4 options for each question. You have to choose a single correct answer.

UCEED 2027: Part B

This is not computer-based but a pen-and-paper section. In Part B, questions will be displayed on the computer screen. However, you need to write or draw your responses in the answer booklet that will be provided to you at the exam centre. 30 minutes before the examination is scheduled to begin, the booklet will be distributed to you.

Part B will have hundred marks in total, with a one-hour duration for you to answer all the questions. There will be two subjective questions - one question on sketching and another on design-aptitude.

The question on sketching will assess your ability to draw people, products, line quality etc.

The question on design aptitude will assess how empathetically, practically and creatively you can respond to a given design problem.

UCEED 2027: Marking Scheme

The marking scheme for this examination will vary according to the type of question that you have to answer. You will get 4 marks for each correct answer to NAT questions. There will be no negative marking.

When it comes to Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ), there will be total 28 questions. For a correct response to each MCQ question, you will get 3 marks. 0.71 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response. Based on the number of correct options that you choose, you will be awarded partial or full marks for MSQ questions.

You have to answer 15 MSQs (Multiple Select Questions). Keep in mind that you will only get full marks when all of your selected options are correct and you do not choose any incorrect option. In defined cases, where you select fewer correct options, you may get partial marks of 1, 2 or 3. In specified cases, one mark will be deducted for incorrect choices.

It is a good idea to maintain a sketchbook of design observations and improvement ideas. This will help to build your design sensitivity.

You should practice spatial visualisation regularly. It is essential to strengthen your ability to visualise spatial relationships and objects. To do this, you should work on:

2D-to-3D transformations,
Paper folding,
Nets,
Mirror images,
Rotations, and
Perspective-based exercises
The examination will test you in:

·        Language comprehension,

·        Analytical reasoning, and

·        Creativity-based questions

Due to this reason, you should solve puzzles, English reading-comprehension passages, verbal analogies and data-interpretation exercises regularly.

You should practice sketching, daily, to prepare well for the drawing-based component. While focusing on clarity and speed, you have to practice:

Human figures,
Line quality,
Shading,
Perspective drawing,
Scenes,
Objects, and
