Exam Start and End Dates
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a major step under the education policy by releasing the date sheet for the Class 10 “Second Board Examination-2026”. According to the official information shared by the board, the second board examinations will begin on 15 May 2026 and will continue until 21 May 2026. This is a golden opportunity for students who wish to improve their marks or were unable to sit the first examination.
Schedule for Core Subjects:
The examination timings are primarily scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m. The dates for the core subjects are as follows:
- 15th May (Friday): Mathematics Standard (041) and Mathematics Basic (241).
- 16 May (Saturday): English Communicative (101) and English Language and Literature (184).
- 18 May (Monday): Science (086).
- 19 May (Tuesday): Hindi Course-A (002), Urdu, Punjabi and other regional languages.
- 20 May (Wednesday): Sanskrit (122), Information Technology (402) and AI (417).
- 21 May (Thursday): Social Science (087) - Last day of examinations.

Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj has clarified while releasing this timetable that the duration for some subjects, such as Painting and Music, will be 2 hours (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM). Students can download the detailed PDF by visiting the official website, cbse.gov.in. Education experts believe that holding exams twice a year will reduce the mental pressure on students and give them a better opportunity to improve their scores.
