CBSE Requests Submission of List of Candidates (LOC)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a new notice for the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026. It includes the list of candidates. The notice provides the full schedule and guidelines for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC). Under the "two-board examination policy," the board will conduct the second board examination in May 2026. This will allow students to improve their marks in up to three subjects. This time, the CBSE has introduced a phased process for LOC submission and fee payment. This new arrangement will make the procedure easier and more organized for both schools and students.
As this is the first time a second board exam is being held for Class 10, the CBSE board has created a schedule for LOC submission to ensure the correct number of students and the subjects they wish to take are known to the board in advance.
Eligibility for the CBSE Second Board Examination
It is mandatory for students to have sat the first board examination in order to take the CBSE Second Board Examination. All passed and eligible students can take the Second Board Examination in any three subjects from Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages to improve their performance.
If a student has not sat three or more subjects in the first examination, they are not eligible to take the second board examination. Such students will only be able to take the main examination in February of the following year and will not be able to submit an LOC. Students who have received a compartment in the first examination may take the second board examination under the compartment category.
New names cannot be added to the LOC for the second examination. Subject changes from the first examination to the second examination are only possible as per the policy (in the case of Mathematics). No corrections can be made to a student's details from the first examination to the second examination.
Improving Marks in CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam
Under the CBSE Board Second Examination 2026, students can improve their marks in up to three subjects. To do this, a student must have sat the first board examination and passed Class 10. Candidates will only be given the opportunity to improve their performance in Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages. Students will submit the LOC through their school in due course.
