CBSE students will give their pending board exams in their own schools; results by July- end

HRD ministry has announced that the students who are appearing for the 10 and 12 board examinations will give their exam in the school only not in the external test centres. Also, the ministry is planning to declare the results by July end and the evaluation process has already begun for the exams which were conducted before the lockdown was announced.

This step has been taken to make sure that students will travel less. The schools will be responsible to maintain the social distancing norms. Carrying hand sanitizer and face mask will be compulsory, as said by the board minister Ramesh Pokhriyal in a live interaction with the students.

Mostly the board examination is held at the test centres and enable independent external invigilator to monitor the examination process to ensure biased behaviour from their school for their students. Also, the board on Monday had announced the date sheet for the pending board exams of class 10th and 12th. According to the new date sheet, the board exam will now be held between July 1 to July 15 with strict distancing norms.

The exams had been postponed due to the nationwide lockdown amid coronavirus spread. Though the class 12 exam is being conducted across the country and class 10 exams are only pending in North East Delhi where it could not be held due to the law and order situation for the protest against the amended citizenship act.

“Efforts are being made to declare the result by July-end itself. Evaluation process has already begun for the board exams and will continue to be held simultaneously with pending exams. Teachers who are involved in the evaluation process will be exempted from delivering academic and administrative work for the tenure,” he said in the interaction.

The modalities of the remaining assessment for the subjects for which the exams could not be held will be announced soon by the board.

The new schedule had been decided to ensure that the board exams are completed before the entrance examinations like JEE-Mains, which has been scheduled from July 18-23 and NEET which is scheduled on July 26.
