IIT-Madras, IIT Kharagpur, DU, BHU and Hyderabad University Awarded Institute Of Eminence Status

IIT-Madras, IIT-Kharagpur, DU, BHU and University of Hyderabad has been declared as IoE (Institute Of Eminence ) by Ministry Of HRD as stated by Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. It was also informed by the HRD Minister that “five private universities including AmritaVidyapeetham, Tamil Nadu; Jamia Hamdard University; Kalinga Institute of industrial Technology, Odisha; and Bharti Institute, Mohali have been given Letter of Intent for granting the IoE status”

These institutions will be required to submit their readiness for commencing academic operations as IoEs, Nishank said. The selection panel had also recommended names of Shiv Nadar University in Noida and OP Jindal University in Sonipat. Above move is part of a scheme of the HRD Ministry announced last year to select 20 IoEs — 10 public and 10 private — that will enjoy complete academic and administrative autonomy.
