The examinations of the IDOL of the University of Mumbai were recently hit by a cyber-attack this Tuesday. The entire fiasco was on the second day of examinations and due to this, the examinations had to be cold off. IDOL has now officially postponed the final year examinations for arts, commerce, and science departments. There are no new dates provided as of now.
While the new format was a big change for the Students and University Officials, their own inefficiency has been the cause of this incident. The officials were initially aware of the limitations of technology and they should have provided better security for the servers. As of now, this has caused a terrible experience for over 1 lakh students.
Candidates reported the incident by stating that when they clicked on the link for the exam, they saw a message stating no exam scheduled. Around 8000 students were scheduled for taking their exam on this date.
